Yes. It's a great way to maintain your network.
One of our directors just had her first child and took ten months off, but appeared at a few events during that time. I had never worked with her before, but got to know her a bit from these events and was so impressed that when she came back I immediately asked her if I could do a project with her.
To maintain your network.....
If you are on holiday, don’t, but if no longer term leave like parental then it is a nice way to stay in touch. I’m sure people will be delighted to see after your absence.
