Attorneys:
Do I take the Bar in July (in certain states) or should I want until September? Some states are offering administrations in both July & Sept.

July before you forget everything

like

July so you’ll get your results sooner. Plus summer is already cancelled

like

As long as you’re after UBE states, I’d get it done as soon as possible.

like

Do it in July. If you don’t pass (it’s okay, plenty of very educated people do) then you will be able to turn it around quickly and have a second bite as fast as possible

like

Texas is administering July and September with the September scores being released within 3 weeks of the July scores. So there's not much of difference if you take it in July or September in Texas.

like

If you’re prepared, do it in July.

like

Do July if you can.

like

I promise you, do not prolong the misery and anxiety-filled time of bar prep. Get it over with.

September? Has it changed from February and July? Am I showing how out of touch I am?

Many states have postponed until September due to COVID

I moved back in with my parents in August, and my mom and stepfather have demanded monthly rent. They are in no way poor at this moment in time, and in my opinion it’s f*cked up to demand your child pay rent. I bought a VR headset a couple weeks back and my mom increased the rent because “I can afford it.” Is this normal? I honestly feel used. Fwiw I’ve worked since I was 13, and hustled my entire life.

As I'm moving to a new role in a small company, I have a doubt about my salary structure like the Basic salary part is only 20,000 while my take home is 62k after all deductions.

I'm concerned because the leave encashment & other things totally depends on the basic salary.

Are there not any rules for the Basic salary to be at a certain % of CTC or it depends totally on the company?

Also PF deductions they are offering only 1800 p.m but considering 20000 basic it should be 12% of 20000 right?

My firm has a collections budget (80% of your billable rate x 1850 hours) and an hourly budget that must be met in order to be eligible for a bonus. The firm cares very little about originations and will reward someone for making their collections over someone who brings in new work. I missed my collection budget due to some odd timing with a client, but originated more than all my peers so no bonus for me. I’ve been at this same mid level firm for 9 years and it’s all I know. Is this normal??

Whoever said employers don’t care about grades and transcripts after your first job was a liar. Every lateral position that I’ve applied to as a 3rd year has requested transcripts. Why do we lie and tell grads that employers don’t check transcripts when they do. My coworker, a 5th yr, had to submit his transcripts also to lateral job.
