On the flip side of A1’s comment, there’s a reason they call it “Passachusetts.” Plus, the roll signing ceremony is one of the better ones.
It's not Passachusetts anymore--it's the UBE now.
I took it in the last year it was Passachusetts!
With the UBE, it doesn’t matter which you take, as they are the same two day exam. NY has the NYLE and both require the MPRE. Honestly, I’d do both, it will make you more marketable, you can transfer your score from one jurisdiction to the other, then you only need the NYLE, which is a 50 question, multiple choice test, and it is open book.
Fellow Australian here, I would just double check the state bar requirements, I could not transfer UBE score to Ohio for example because Ohio has an additional requirement of needing 6+ years post secondary school education, I did my commerce/law double degree 5 years so and my llm did not count towards 6 year requirement, point is double check if in fact u can transfer UBE, everyone else commenting here likely has a US J.D.
Yes look at NCBEx website.
I would do NY bar because NY and MA are both UBE, so you might be able to transfer it. Also, in MA I think it’s after 5 years you can waive in.
