Alvarez & Marsal Hello Alvarez & Marsal! Can any current employees speak to the hiring timelines / norms? I was referred internally, and I’ve had 4 interviews so far (mix of formal and informal) over the past ~2 months. During the most recent call, I was told that I would next hear from an HR rep who manages offers / negotiations / location assignments. Since then, it’s been nearly 3 weeks without any response. Is this normal? We were moving really quickly, but this delay has taken the wind out of my sails
Total comp can be 400+ so with a 180 base say 220 bonus

I heard 180-220 but was also told it’s irrelevant with assured bonuses and prorated bonuses. Was told it’s just a matter cash flow
Yeah, the only issue is cash flow. Other firms will have higher base, but a much lower bonus. Once you get through the first bonus cycle you can generally save enough to cover any shortfall throughout the next year as you wait for the next bonus.
One more Q please - does A&M pay a signing bonus at the D and SD levels these days? Asking for PEPI.
OP you’re starting to sound like you either didn’t actually earn these offers at the levels you’re describing, or haven’t don’t your research, or are so far entrenched in your Accenture work that you’re not accounting for the ways things work in general in our industry.
The signing bonus and assured bonuses, whether prorated or lump sum, are highly subjective at such high levels and giving you a number is useless. Second, the number would vary based on the time of the year with respect to the fiscal year. A&M just finished their fiscal year.
Obviously try to negotiate the most you can for what’s best for you. You really need to talk to the PEPI people you interviewed with to make sure the firm is the right fit for you.
