Does anyone here struggle with finding out their purpose and knowing what they want out of their career? Especially anyone in their 30's?

I ask because I had a lot of trouble finding this out myself, and after many years of developing ways to understand myself, and creating kind of a system to do that, I started doing it with some of my friends. One of my friends recommended I check out this Fishbowl and see if anyone also can relate to that and maybe I can be helpful to anyone here!!

Hey guys, I need to make a decision today on whether I want to start a career as a Talent Sourcer at TikTok or as a Onboarding Specialist at Cepheid, a Biotechnology company. Both in the Bay Area at $35 per hour and both are currently WFH. The TikTok position is less stable and very numbers driven, while the Onboarding position is more “secure” but less exciting. I am overthinking the fact that I would need to be presenting orientations for hours a day, and could be shy

So I say this with complete humility and an understanding that this is a fortunate-ish situation to be in. I’m in a position where I am tied to nothing, I have no children, spouse, or house. My job, which I’ve loved until some recent significant leadership changes, is sucking the life out of me and I think it may be time for a change. Because I am able to “pick up and go” I’m open to opportunities and locations. I’ve never worked with a recruiter but was hoping I could get some recommendations!

What should the reaction be if the vaccines end up only being reasonably effective. Say we end up with a going forward rate of 100,000 dead per year. Or 50,000. I’m seriously considering starting up a solo shop. I have a very reliable stream of business (family friend has one patent that was infringed multiple times, huge firms have taken a few of these on contingency). Pros: I don’t have law school debt; I could follow these large firm’s general trajectory in prosecuting these cases; high risk tolerance (no kids, mortgage, etc). Cons: I’m inexperienced generally (class of 2019), and not familiar with patent law specifically. Thoughts?

Hi Fishes,
Asking for someone else from a different company, if the company’s asset fails to work and we cannot work. Does the company cut leaves? And is it the employees responsibility to get the asset?

So my boss texts me with hair on fire asking if this period (in a recent logo we just delivered) lines up with the text above. See the texts below. I had to zoom in 600-800% and set a guide to confirm that it is indeed 1/200th of an inch out of alignment. Do you guys get this anal? Is she justified? I have already had one heart attack. I won’t risk another over a gap that small.

Tell me your craziest experience working with a TV network. Here comes mine:

I'm American, but my family is mostly Colombian. I was told my aunt and cousins would come here for 2 weeks. I discovered they were going to be paid to appear in a famous Hispanic TV show, where a "judge" receives a case, hears the plaintiffs and defendants and renders a verdict. But of course, it's all fake and payed 😂 turns out she wanted me to go there (even though I don't work for that TV network) so she's sure she'll be paid at the end of the show. Wth did I just do.

I am interested in moving to another state and realized that this state has one of the most restrictive reciprocity rules in the country. I've passed multiple bar exams. However, I won't get any credit for time I worked in CA because CA isn't reciprocal. I swore I'd never take another bar after taking CA - and now I have to take another exam if we move. I worked in big law in CA for two years and get no credit! Yet the exam has been waived for new grads for COVID. It sure limits our move.

Or will she be bothered since she said she would keep me posted. Seems like a long time for silence, but maybe I'm just impatient.
