Hi Everyone,
I just received an offer to work as an software sales representative (SDR) for IBMs Z systems. I'm coming as a sales engineer in the cloud security space. Can anyone advise me on whether Z systems are something worth going into? Also what do the growth opportunities look like at IBM? Is there opportunity for lateral movement onto other teams? Not too sure how I feel about working on mainframes (Z systems) but they keep pitching hybrid cloud to me. IBM

As mentioned AWS has higher market share, same time tho, if you know what your dream company is running get that, also most companies are multi cloud.
Soooo get what is honestly easier, I saw a DBA I was friends with, with all Azure certs get a job at AWS with them, so make sure you understand the tech, not the word of the week đź‘Ť
It depends on your target company/client.
Azure is more friendly to big corporations as they have Microsoft products embedded already in their systems.
AWS is better for smaller companies or startups as they can easily leverage with third party tools.
As others mentioned, AWS has a bigger market share so they have more users and probably more architects. Azure might have lesser certified architects so it’s niche if you want that.
Aws has higher market share if that matters to you.
Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts.
