I've seen the KPMG audit manual and can confirm it directs the user to "beat the shit out of provisions prepared by other accounting firms so that they are unable to make a profit"
Nope. Believe it or not, we have better things to do with our time. Asking questions takes up a lot of our time too.
Maybe your work isn't up to their standards or as easy to follow as you think. Each firm looks for different things and has different considerations. I know at EY the company picks a few things to beat the shit out of each year as a result of inspection findings.
Doesn't seem to be the case for KPMG. Asking WAY too many questions for a full valuation client
Oh well they just sound like they're lazy/incompetent.
Now now let's all remember it's Kpmg...
Just because you have a rec or explanation in the w/p doesn't mean it's clear to find or understand. I've experience similar issues with our tax folks. They've done all the work, but sometimes their w/ps aren't the cleanest and things aren't properly labeled etc. Thus a ton of questions and they get pissed too. Not saying your w/ps are a mess, but it's possible.
It is a very complex provision, but their questions are dumb. I have answered multiple questions where we specifically put a reconciliation or comment to explain what is going on. Maybe they should read it.
Pwc 2, that is exactly what I wanted to hear! ;)
Just keep in mind that you are a tax accountant and they are try hard auditors
