Trying to do this now so hopefully I’ll have a story to tell in a couple months. Good luck OP!

Same to you! Can you share your background, YOE, etc and what you’re hoping to get into now?

MBA. It's a master reset and level up switch.

like

Still paying it off but refi-ed at <3%.

What about if you’re still early out in your career? 1 YOE. Hard to think that I have to wait for MBA to switch

like

You can get into MBA with 2 YOE, ie apply with just a bit over 1 YOE. Its not that far off into the future.

Entered via undergrad. Applied to B4. They didn’t give me any interviews. Applied to MBB. They all gave my interviews.

You might be right. I applied to protiviti after have recruiters push me, as well as multiple friends referring me who got full time offers. I think I was automatically rejected because I had b4 experience. So what you said makes sense

@OP- yes I made a transition from B4 to MBB; has been a good transition. Anything specific you want to know ?

@EY - when you say division? I was in core consulting in B4 Yep, MBA was a great decision, I also came from Europe to do my MBA so opened a lot of doors in the US

Serious q: I'm choosing between a two BI/Ops type roles, one in a FAANG in Dublin, one in a less-known corporate in London (where I'm currently based). FAANG pays 70% more and is a more interesting / more senior role, but I'd prefer staying in London where all my friends are / where it's warmer and sunnier. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna take the FAANG role, but has anyone else struggled with this type of career vs. personal life trade-off, and how did you reason about it?
