I have been using Wealthfront to manage roughly 30% of my investments. Not very happy with it’s allocations (I want less international and resources exposure), and looking to get a bit more control, with the continued benefits of automated rebalancing and tax loss harvesting. What are my best options? And what is the best way of transferring?
And I was offered by EY GDS to be a Technology Consultant. How's life there? Is work-life balance real? How about permanent remote work?
I have an offer of 21.5 with 5 YOE in hand. Now i have a HR round with Siemens for discussing salary and will be sharing this in hand offer with them. How much should i ask them? And if they can't afford what I have asked them for, will they ce back with their final range or drop m and hire someone else, without even negotiating with m once?
Has anyone on H1B here been laid off and found a job within the 60 day graces period? If so, what was your strategy?
Wife and I are mid-30s. We’ve struggled long to have a kid, and finally we are considering a IVF. I’ve been seriously considering adopting a baby, but not sure how she’ll react; struggling to get this across and not upset her at the same time
If you are happy in NYC and your parents and sibling are in the same city so you can see them a few times a month. How much does a new job in San Francisco needs to pay you for you to move?
Is anyone running a small nonprofit on the side in addition to consulting? I am planning to start one to carry out some of my passion work. (Any books, courses, places to start?)
Any suggestions for virtual happy hour - scotch, wine, cocktail, mocktail tasting (vendors, logistics, rough pricing etc.)? Location: US, Canada
Any book recommendations?
What will you do if you feel like you’re not growing anymore in your career but then organization structure change happened, new manager, new goals and maybe a big chance for promotion? Are you going to look for a new job or stay?
I’m a lazy investor and don’t want to think about my money, so I invest my Roth IRA and 401K into a Vanguard target fund (2065). Should I be doing more with my money?

Federal MBB🐠, were you given the opportunity to work any commercial projects your 1st year with the firm (if desired)? Had a final round years ago but friend advised me to stop the process given passion was retail. At the time switching practices was unheard of, have the times changed? Bridges never burned, debating re-kindle conversations...
Before someone says comparison is thief of joy, share your experiences and thought process if possible... My wife and I have a very stable career here in the US with 400K HHI and just hit our 30s with our first kid. But I personally know friends who have very successful start ups (read unicorns) in India and several others going down that path. I don't feel very complacent but don't want to risk moving the family now in search of a startup in India (either my own or joining one). Contd...
My mom decided that tonight she’d confess: 25 yrs ago she told me my 1st choice college did not give us any financial aid and I couldn’t go there (so I went where we had it). She admitted I almost got a free ride but she didn’t want me to go there so she lied. I feel betrayed. Loved my school and have no regrets. Just feel manipulated.
