Baby in daycare for a grand total of 5 days.

Baby, wife, and I are now COVID positive.

I hate to sound brash but get used to it. Ear infections, colds, hand foot mouth disease, croup, etc are all most likely in your future. Good news is kids develop immunity and then barely get sick once they hit elementary school

Hey, not sure what this is worth from a stranger, but I find it times of darkness well wishes can be a source of light. I wish you and your family the best right now.

Yup. Kids bring home everything. Expect to be sick for the next few winters.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you and your family recover quickly and stay healthy OP (and hopefully asymptomatic).

Thanks SM1 and M1.

Appreciate it.

How are all of you holding up?

Wishing you all a speedy recovery! Hang in there!!

I feel for you OP, we have 2 toddlers and daycare is our one big calculated risk (really the only indoor activity the kids have been doing since 2020) and while we've managed to avoid it, it feels like just a matter of time... Not to mention the soul crushing closures for potential exposure. In some ways I hope you can feel some relief after making it through to the other side, small silver lining: now you don't have to constantly worry about catching it since it happened so fast?

My BIL has cancer and is going on month 4 of chemo. My niece is about to be 1 and has thankfully been staying at home with my sister. The doctor has told them to not send the baby to daycare until BIL is done with chemo. It’s a cesspool when you think about it; the kids & their parents; the employees and everyone they congregate with; easily hundreds of point of contacts and illness at even a modest sized daycare.

With that said, please get well soon

Hey on the bright side at least you may be able to escape busy season (hopefully)

but LiVe YoUr LiFe WiThOuT fEaR!!!

As long as youre not doing your part to curtail cpvid, youte a potential vector. if I had some guarantee that you dont have covid or that you have mitigated catching/giving covid that would be a different thing

only person lost is people like you who'd rather see people die than do something about it

What is a useful, comprehensive but not too long of a book for parenting toddlers?

LO is 16 months old, very sweet and social, at the park every day with other kids with either me or her nanny. Not in day care. Yesterday we had a play date and she slapped another baby on the head. Not hard and did not scare her, but the act of “aggression” took me by surprise and I felt terrible about it. I’d like to be more proactive about toddler psychology, what’s to come and how to react/ teach. TY!

I don’t work then past 5pm or anything out of the ordinary for this time of the year. I am so grateful!

All -
I am interviewing for a Strategy leadership role at a SaaS company. A bit rusty on interviews so crowdsourcing from senior folks here, what are best practices or good examples of certain behavioral questions.

1. What is your weakness? I can talk at length about strengths but unclear what weakness to state so as to not mess up my chances.

2. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? This question is tough because there aren't very many levels above me so cannot say in an EVP role.
