Anyone in newport open to a sublet? I need an apartment now-end of Feb/March for my myself/wife/baby while we wait on our new house to finish being built.
I’m pregnant and have been at my job for a few months to qualify for the state family leave which is only 4 weeks. I’m wondering what others have done to prolong their maternity leave when starting a new job.
Since I was a child I’ve never liked leftovers. I love my food fresh. When I cook, if I make too much, I eat and throw the rest out. When I go out and eat, I stuff myself because I know it “won’t taste good later.” I hate leftovers so much that I genuinely cannot meal prep, the taste of food that’s been in the fridge for a day or more is gross to me. I told a friend about this and she said that’s stupid snd strange… I’m just here to see if I really am stupid and strange or if anyone understands?
This is an interesting article! Thought I’d share. https://www.psychiatryadvisor.com/home/topics/child-adolescent-psychiatry/pandemic-anxiety-among-adolescents-associated-with-depression-poor-health/
My dog lives with me in my apt with a 30 inch crate, he’ll be with my mother for a month. Her house is much bigger than my apt, is it bad to order a larger crate for there? Will he come back and be squished?
Elon Musk says 'civilization is going to crumble' if people don't have more children. How is this true? Isn’t overpopulation the root cause of almost all our problems, specifically things like climate change, lack of housing, and traffic? I feel like a global one child policy would make the world lot better, it would reduce humanities total carbon footprint.
The worst words I've ever had spoken to me were 'not compatible with life.' Today is the one year mark since the procedure and loss of what would have been our first child. I'm about to go on a bender 🥃
Been at ZS for couple of years and considering applying to other consulting firms (LEK in particular, MBB maybe) for better pay and progression, especially as I get closer to M level where ZS pay is lower. May enjoy doing different work too. Currently at the consultant level with a TC at about 180k. WLB is doable and I have great flexibility, picking up my kid to school everyday at 5PM and getting back to work later in the evening. Wondering if that would be a mistake considering WLB ?
Soon to be working mom and only female / working mom MD. I’ll be first to have a baby at the entire firm and I really want to keep my foot on the gas in my career so childcare is so important. What do childcare/ parental benefits look like across PE? Any information is much appreciated as I try to navigate what’s appropriate to ask for. Thanks in advance.
Hello everyone! First time mom here, son is 11 weeks old. What to start with in the search of a daycare? What criteria I should have to find a better place for my kid?
In PA, what qualities in a staff/senior do you see that make you think this kid has got some serious potential?

Looking for help related to maternity policy which states we’re eligible for 16 weeks postpartum and it should be taken within first 6 months from delivery. Does it have to be consecutive 16 weeks?
What is the extent of details revealed in a background check? If I left voluntarily vs was let go - does that show up in a background check? Long leave of absence say 6 months (health or parental leave or just personal leave) - does that show up? Which specific teams I worked with or what kind of projects I worked on? Past promotion dates?
Return to work: I’ve been on maternity leave since the beginning of August with my first. It has been so amazing, and while there are tough moments, I have loved every day with this baby. In less than a month, I’m going to be headed back to work. My heart is absolutely broken. It’s not an option for me to not work (loans, mortgage, etc.). I’m having a really hard time with the idea of only seeing her a few hours a day and/or going back to travel. Does it get better? How do I get through this? 😭
Having morning sickness and one of the biggest pitch presentations is end of the week. No one knows I’m pregnant yet, far too soon. Tips?
Am I having some sort of existential crisis? We’re a month away from trying for our first kid and I just keep thinking about how sad I am to lose my current life of freedom/ease. I can’t get through Adele’s “When We Were Young” without crying. I know there’s beauty on the other side and motherhood is always something I’ve wanted dearly. I just can’t seem to get where the bout of sadness is coming from.
Parents have a b1/b2 visitor visa for the US that expires in May…. Can they visit in March and leave by May? Does the 6 month validity rule apply to visas as well?
Currently a C Sharp .net programmer. Is Admin cert > PD1 cert > PD2 cert good path to pursue to become a salesforce developer? Is there anything I should be aware of? Would there be loss of seniority level-wise/salary-wise if I switch to Salesforce development?
Kendall Jenner accused of cultural appropriation for starting a tequila company. Meanwhile, Jay-Z is a boss for selling half of his champagne company to LVMH. Why is it only cultural appropriation when white people do it? Side note: I loathe the kardashians and agree that they are culture vultures...
planning a cycle and only one cycle will be allowed under my insurance unless I go further away (distance by 3 hours) which will allow two cycles under my insurance. What should I do ? the more expensive place is part of a world class facility and hospital network.
Question, when you know you made it to the final round and have had nothing but glowing feedback from the interviewers. How long do you expect to wait for an offer, rejection, follow up? This is a mid-senior management position which I am well qualified for. I am just new to the tech space. Side note, we talked compensation and start date already.
I transferred to USA from India with a consulting company a couple years ago. My role was primarily data analysis in India and now I’m in a client facing role with the same team. Now, when I’m trying to switch I’m unable to get an offer partly because I don’t know how to structure case studies. Desi folks who work at Tier 1 and 2 firms, could you suggest resources I can use to learn how to interview, especially case studies? Is this something that you learnt in your masters course? TIA!
For past layoff people how is 401k and company phone transition handled? I want to keep the phone number
Looking to burn Marriott points and air miles? Thoroughly recommend the JW on Isla Della Rosa - Venice....
Am I wrong for getting annoyed with a manager who constantly reschedules meetings at the last minute and will reschedule the same meeting multiple times like that? I am trying to be understanding of workload, etc but it’s not like everyone else on the call has nothing to do either.
Thoughts on Gartner? Specifically their marketing areas under strategy/ops. I saw some comments around layoffs/halting 401k matching from a few weeks back but curious about that department
Any recommendations for an employment lawyer versed in professional services firms? I had one that helped negotiate my exit from another firm into ACN but they also do work for ACN so I can't use with some ACN related questions. Thanks all!
Anyone with India employment knowledge/experience? Looking for insight into the following: - How common is life insurance as an employer provided benefit and has anyone tried to get quotes on this recently? I’m being told by our broker it’s impossible to get anyone to quote on this now because of COVID but I don’t have a very high opinion of the broker… -contract recruiters in India. I’m looking for multiple contract recruiters (English speaking). Any leads??
Fed up. Need to vent. I’ve been an analyst for 2 years. I’ve been asking to be promoted for the past year. I’ve been managing work streams, managing other team members, delegating tasks to other analysts/senior analysts, etc. I was supposed to be promoted this past November and was told to try again for next May. A senior analyst on my team is leaving the project and my manager now wants to pass his work streams down to me, on top of the ones I am currently managing. Contd.
Hi Ladies, anything to take care of when dating Paktstani men? He basically lives in Germany since he was a child and we‘re both working in Germany within the same company.
My confession is… I’m spending too much this Christmas on presents. Like, almost 1 months worth of pay, after tax. So, what are you getting your loved ones this holiday?
Can anyone provide some guidance for a systems engineer with a Masters in Engineering Management looking to get into product management? Or ideally 100k+ positions? How can I develop myself professional ~3yrs of experience
I recently started to date again and I’m currently dating someone who’s finishing up his masters in data science. I do some data analytics in my role (well my title for my client says data analytics consultant) but I work in strategy. He keeps asking me complex data science/data analytics questions (even tho he knows I don’t have a background in it) and jokes about if I even know what I’m doing at work. Am I taking this too seriously or is he always trying to put me down?
