Hi all, recently a recruiter from Amazon reached out for an SDE 2(2+ years of exp. required) role and I'm a recent CS grad. I gave the OA (which was extremely difficult w/ 99% cut-off) and other tasks related to the OA. A few hours back, I got a call from the recruiter that I had cleared the assessment and tasks and said that they are looking for 2+ years of exp. I said I'm open to the SDE1 role and said she'll ask her colleagues. Idk what to expect now 😥 Amazon Amazon India

I returned this year to teaching, my 25th year, despite all of my friends and therapist saying I should leave. Really, cause we got a decent raise and one of my friends said, "make the district work for you!" So that's my plan as long as I can do it despite the fact that more and more I'm seeing students are not coming to high school to learn and be ready to adult--they want to socialize and foster their emotions I took a lot of time off last year for legit reasons and one day I anticipate having an "I quit" story for all the abuse and neglect (meaning admin does nothing to respond to issues) I've taken. I hope to finish my time to meet my 30 years but I will be too young to take any retirement. I don't care. 30 is all they get and then I'm getting out. My own kids will be grown by then. So I've made a plan to pay my house off 17 years early and owe nothing but utilities in 5 more work years. Cars, house and the two retirements waiting. I can do almost anything to sustain myself till I'm old enough to get my retirements.
Schools need to be revamped completely. It's a hot mess all around and really, no one cares. Its maddening.
