Backdoor Roth IRA question - I have 1.1M all in traditional IRA. Should I even consider doing a backdoor Roth at this point? What’s best way to evaluate? All was from pretax earnings

You would have to first do a reverse rollover of your IRAs to a 401k to avoid the pro-rata taxation.

Are you familiar with the pro-rata rule? If not, I’d read up on it

Oh no.. I have 40k in my traditional IRA and I did the Blackfoot Roth in 2019 July. Can I still do the reverse rollover before April 2020 to avoid the pro rata tax for 2019?

Sorry for not being clear.. I meant reverse rollover of traditional IRA to 401k.

TL;DR: Social Security matters.

My wife & I are 35. If we quit working today, at 70 we are entitled to a combined $50k in annual SS in today’s dollars. (Source: SSA.tools)

$50k real is significant. Let’s be conservative and say that a 70 year old couple spends $100k per year. That’s SS meeting half of your required expenses.

Current law with current demographics shows that SS can fulfill 79% of benefits into perpetuity.

Assuming SS will disappear means working decades longer than needed
