Do lots of stretching. It made a difference for me.
Ten minutes of stretching immediately takes away probably 70-80% of the pain I get in my lower back regularly due to two ruptured discs. The stretches are focused on butt & legs - interestingly to me, tightness in those muscles causes back muscle pain. If you’re at PwC, looking up Hinge Health - that stretching in that program is specifically what I do.
If you wake up already in pain, invest in a new mattress - likely slightly to the firmer side of things, but even just a new mattress will help if yours is old.
Make sure the chair you sit in for work has good lumbar support.
My firm also offers Hinge Health. To add, my experience has been that it’s great for habit formation and exercise compliance.

Chiropractors are unlicensed hacks. Please avoid. I’m sure you could find one who could help but it’s pretty random given that it’s pseudoscience.
As others have said - doctor plus PT is the way to go. Usually some combo of treating acute discomfort and building strategies to avoid it in the future (core strength, lifestyle, posture, etc)
Idk, saw some guy on YouTube perform this technique he coined the “Ring Dinger”. Seems like a legit method for separating your skull from your spine if that’s what OP’s going for
Massage, physio, lifestyle change before you try pain meds (other than Advil or Alleve etc)
Go see a doctor first and assess how serious it is.

Stretch and PT. This will help you strengthen the right muscles.
Stay away from drugs any time you can.
Aight fellow fish, looks like physio and stretching it will be. Hopefully this isn't going to be a permanent thing

If you’re nearby, go to RIC in chicago. Probably the best place in the world for this stuff
Chiropractor
Not sure I’ve seen yoga mentioned yet among the excellent suggestions.
Talk to your doctor. Look for stretches. consider if a massage from a professional would help.
Physio helped me a lot
Take a break from work, it is impossible to maintain good posture when under stress. Nip this in the bud.
Had this also and took 6 months but free of it now. Stretching, strengthening + massage first. Even try dry needling (worked wonders for me). Back pain is typically the result of lifestyle and pain meds won’t get to the root cause.
Been through that several times this year. Buy an ergonomic chair, go to a chiropractor, do stretches recommended by them, apply only ice to the affected area. Completely changed my focus and mood after i was free of pain
get a Chiropractor!!!! they work wonders
You need to stretch and strengthen ur core
Find a chiropractor who also practices kinesiology. The kinesiology is key to it, as the muscles back there are just as important as the bones and a plain chiropractor can't help muscles. They'll just crack your back and send you on your way.
If you're in the NYC or North Jersey area, I can give you the name of where I go.
FYI I threw it out deadlifting, it's not a posture or mattress thing :'( Is this what old age feels like? I've been lifting for a couple decades and always focus on form. I don't lift heavy either, specifically started lifting as PT for some sports related injuries.
Yeah man
Physical therapy was a life saver for me. Go see one a few times, they'll give you the needed activities and you can do them on your own.
