I have ghost-ticked a few procedures during the last two disaster-filled, soul-crushing audits I completed.

I’m sure I would’ve been able to produce the support necessary to back up the ghost-ticks, but hey, I was running out of time before the “deadlines” and these jobs were understaffed from the get go. Not to mention the client not being ready for us until a month into fieldwork when we had a budgeted fieldwork period of six weeks 🤷‍♂️

I started a consulting job at an upper mid-tier firm back in May. I sat on the bench for a month before being onboarded onto client (FAANG client to be non-specific) and I am more than a month on this new client. There are about 5 other C/SC and a few Principals that do “check-ins” with the group. I have been assigned an ETL task (PySpark/Airflow) that will take me about 40 hours e2e to deploy. This is my assignment for the next 4 months. Most of my colleagues do not know code at all. Normal?

I always wanted to be a planner but found myself in acc due to job availabilities and needing to pay rent. While a great account person is priceless, it’s just not me - unless I fake it and go against my nature.
