I love love love Grand Cayman. Live in Florida, so it's a quick flight -- go there a few times every year. Super safe, easy to relax and lots to do, though not much for "sight seeing" unless you scuba dive and want to sight see in the ocean
What are the things to do in grand cayman?
^^^ What to do in Grand Cayman... Here are few of my favorites:
- Relax on the Seven Mile Beach -- ALL beaches in GC are public, so even if you're not staying at great spot such as the Ritz or the Westin, you can still relax on their beach chairs and buy a bucket of beer or sip on a mojito!!
- Enjoy the ocean life and water adventures: Scuba Dive (beginners through experienced), Snorkle, Kayak at evening through the luminescent bay, Starfish Point, Play with Sting Rays (shuffle your feet so you don't step on one), Turtle Hatching/farm
- Enjoyable evenings out: Thursday night music bingo at local bar -- Lone Star Bar & Grill, New Moon Parties throughout island when there's a new moon 🌑, lots of high end infusion restaurants as well as casual diners
- Lots of great high end shopping -- buy a pair of Tom Ford sunglasses or an Omega watch if it fits your taste/budget!!!
It's easy to make great memories in GC!!
Zika is Grand Cayman?
Most of those islands are still reeling from the hurricanes this year btw...
Haven’t been to the others, but I LOVE the Cayman Islands. Clear water, good food, amazing, friendly people. Charter a small boat and swim with the stingrays- don’t do one of the big tours!
Amazing - when would you say is the best time to go to Grand Cayman / the other options in the region?
Turks and Caicos easily the nicest one on that list
Avoid Nassau, unless you like to get robbed
Bermuda
Is Nassau that bad? I'm heading to Paradise Island for New Years.
If you do Bahamas go to abacos, not Nassau
OP - it depends on your heat tolerance. Since I live in Florida and choose to stay here, my temperature gauge is off. I love summer best, but most people think it's too hot!! Locals will tell you the cheapest time of year to go is after Thanksgiving and before Christmas because that's the slow season and the time of year with the cheapest hotels. It really depends what you're looking for. A wild time (spring and summer) vs intimate and calm (December) In my opinion though it's good year around AND fortunately was not impacted by the 2017 hurricane season!!
^^ @EY1 While they were (as was much of Florida), they were cleared in July of this year, so you're good to go!!
