I have no idea what an account executive at Deloitte means in the consulting context. You really just support client team and practice area operations as a KS. There a few few promotions you could get but if you really are doing true management consulting work at Deloitte, you do not want to be a KS at Bain. You will be bored and disappointed. The reputation is that you are a back office person who has never done consulting before and will never be on the client side.
Knowledge specialist LOL. I'm sure Bain peeps are plenty competent but fuck that's a hilarious title
Knowledge Specialists are internal roles - no travel, no client interaction, completely different hiring process than the consulting side and no one goes from the client side to being a Knowledge Specialist. Why the heck are you asking about this role? Totally not relevant for you.
I know its internal, but how is the job itself and its reputation within the firm? Do they really just support client teams and maintain things like quals, or is there actually a career path? (e.g., at Deloitte, you could become a account executive long term). Asking for a friend...
