Has anyone dealt with claiming a home office deduction for an active real estate activity? There was a case (Dr. Edwin Curphey), a couple decades ago, where the taxpayer was a dermatologist and actively managed a real estate business. He won the case that allowed the deduction. Would that require the RE business to be on Sch C? Or can the deduction be an "other expense" on Sch E?

What do other partners take as unreimbursed partnership expenses? I have heard some say they do nothing (because it isn’t addressed in the partnership agreement) but others say they take quite a bit (if there is an expense policy manual that disallows it).
