Bain 🐠, how much does office location matter for PEG + PE placement if it’s not NY/Boston/SF?

I was just asked to relocate to a different city. The move will come with a raise and promotion, but I'm conflicted. I enjoy where I live right now and I like being close to my family. Would love some advice.

Reapplying to BCG at the Consultant level. Are certain offices or geographic locations hiring more than others?

I have recently resigned from Deloitte India and joined Bain Capability Network, I was taking a base of 6.7 LPA in DI and started working with BCN with base of 8.55 LPA, Now I got to know that another individual from Deloitte got selected in same team in Bain for same role ,and position with same base in DI , but been offered 10.5 LPA by bain since he had offer from other organization and he managed to negotiate to have 10.5 LPA base.
I am little bit disheartened 😐

Any ideas/views ??

McKinsey internal offer. Am level before partner at small boutique firm. Work in tiny but hot area (non-strategy). No desire to make partner as I don’t enjoy selling. Fewer YOE than most at my level. Exp mostly at small companies except for a B4/ACN. No MBA, masters from an Ivy but a less competitive program. Offer is similar to other industry offers in the past but haven’t looked recently. Current TC is on the high end in consulting but have had similar offers.

Advice for MBB from a non target undergrad?

I see a lot talk on MBA Reddit about NYC MBB offices as the most difficult offices to land. Is there actually a higher level of difficulty to land NYC? Or is it a bunch of unknowledgeable people spreading bs?

Anybody from McK Implementation willing to have a quick chat? Needed some interview guidance especially for SAP if possible.
