I have offers, not a theoretical question
for life sciences, go to a specialized practice like clearview or LEK
McKinsey has the broadest Life Sciences client roster, simply as a function of their size, and places *relatively* well into PE (among consulting firms) because of the continued strength of the name as the “premiere” firm. Bain does a LOT of PE work and places very well, especially into funds where their firm has an especially strong reputation (ex: golden gate capital, etc). But honestly, the difference between the three is marginal - they’re all excellent firms, and will all get you where you want to go. I would start looking at other factors that differentiate the three - feel free to dm me, I’m at McK and my sister is at BCG, so I can speak to those two quite well.
Your sister would know that the ring fence places alums into PE way better than McK. Former McK Cleveland and Boston office here - 4 years
McKinsey or BCG. Bain doesn’t really have a strong life science practice unfortunately
I’d probably lean M because they’re a bit stronger in the DD space but it’s hard to ignore the recent scandals there
Not a strong LS practice, but they DO a lot of DDs in LS however. It's surprising but the skillet is different.

All three will get you into headhunter conversations, from there it depends how well you can speak to experience. Bain will easily give you the best diligence experience, IMO BCG has the strongest healthcare practice, but McKinsey has a good mix of both. You can’t go wrong — pick wherever you think you’ll have the best work/life balance because that will enable a successful buy side recruiting experience.
Whoever gives you an offer
