Iā€™m not a history buff normally, but I read Steven Ambroseā€™s ā€œcitizen soldiersā€ and ā€œd dayā€ after watching Band of Brothers (Ambroseā€™s ā€œband of brothersā€ was the foundation for the TV mini series) and I highly recommend it. Especially citizen soldiers.

A neighbor of mine who passed away about 10 years ago was actually in the 506th and was impressed with the series. While we consider them heroes, he never thought of himself as one, only a soldier doing his job. He was shot in the eye during the Battle of the Bulge, but thought nothing of it other then being able to continue with his unit.
I still get a chill thinking about him and the sacrifice all those 18-20 somethings did.

Great show... Spielberg at his best. Amazing cast and insane soundtrack. One of my favorites without a doubt.

I need to get HBO for the rewatch of BoB and the Pacific next week. Canā€™t wait for Masters of the Air to come out

I grew up an hour away from Toccoa. One of the first TV series I ever saw and still one of the best. I singlehandedly credit it for my decision to purchase a beautiful WWII era M1 Garand.

Favorite soldier? Speirs is mine. Guarnere honorable mention.

And weird terrorist that you talk about is Homeland tv series which is in its own league as well. Terrific show. Strongly recommend it. Winters played solid role in first two seasons. But other seasons are even more terrific.

My dad makes me watch it with him every holiday, Iā€™ve seen it more times than I can count.

I will make my kids watch this when they grow up. It may take them couple of decades or so to qualify for this spectacle though šŸ˜›

Iā€™m new to bonds so apologies if the question seems basic.
Iā€™d like to buy a bond etf through a brokerage account and would like to know how does the dividend and dividend yield work exactly.
For BND, the dividend is 0.15 and the yield is 2.2%. Does it mean that for every BND I purchase I will receive 0.15 USD on a yearly basis?
And are these dividends distributed yearly from the date the bond etf is purchased? Or are they pro-rated somehow? Also do the dividends fluctuate with bons etf price?

How would you rate your ratios for work, play, and rest?

My life's mostly been 85% work/serious stuff (includes academia), 10% rest, and 5% play.

I've only started to learn to rest more this year and learning to accept lower productivity (was part of the hustle culture).

Q: How do I learn the concept of play? Didn't have that in my childhood growing up. All serious, no fun. Has anyone transitioned successfully?

I feel like a boring, old lady šŸ˜”šŸ˜’

What is your definition of play?

I work remotely for a series A start up, TC is about $115K + equity. I work approximately 30hrs a week in a busy week, only meet with my boss and team once a week. I just got an offer for $140K + 4X the amount of equity I currently haveā€¦ however, not sure itā€™s worth letting go of the incredible freedom and work life balance I currently have. Any thoughts to help make the decision?
PS: I love our product, but not as passionate about the other startup
