Bangkok temples: Figure out on my own or worth paying for a guide? Will be traveling solo

Pretty easy to explore on your own (remember to bring long pants to get in)

like

Easy to figure out on your own but if you want to really understand significance, better to hire someone. Need pants / to cover shoulders.

If you’re a F, I recommend picking up a sarong at a local market there. They’re beautiful and you can wear it to all the temples

Agreed with above, definitely can do them on your own but if you’re a history buff and want more context then go with a guide. Keep in mind it is hottt so you may not want to stand around in the sun for 2 hours listening to a guide, but depends on time of year you’re going too

Also don’t be fooled by the people outside the temples/grand palace trying to trll you sandals aren’t allowed, theyre just trying to sell you stuff

I think so it alone, they are so beautiful so explore in your own pace. Especially grand palace, definitely worth visiting that one

Lost sense of maximizing points/mileage value for int’l flights. Why is Detla redeeming so much more for some routes than Chase UR and even other partner airlines? E.g. non-stop economy btw Detroit-Seoul // Delta redeeming 160k on its own route while Chase UR 123k & Korean Air 80k for same route (code share)... I get it all depends on timing but still weird directly using Delta Skymiles on its own Delta route is more expensive than going through other methods....

Hi everyone!
The startup I’m with is growing fast and we are hiring Tech recruiters with at least 5yrs of experience:

https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/3001023209

I’m with them now for 3 months and I never felt as psychologically safe as I feel now — our Head of Talent is incredible, so as our leadership team as a whole. We have a true collaborative culture, and I am learning a lot with them. If you have any questions, feel free to DM or email me at laura@laskie.com :)

I’ve worked at the same well known tech company since I graduated school 8 years ago. I’ve been promoted 3 times so I’ve held a few different jobs within my org.

BUT .. I’ve applied to a few companies and getting no responses. Is it a deterrent for hiring managers/recruiters that my experience is based primarily at one company?

I need advice from the collective. It seems like there is a trend to sell wine in unique bottles. The only problem with this, those bottles will not fit into my wine fridge. Has anyone transferred wine to standard bottles and are you concerned about the wine one it hits the air? I’ve looked at vacuum stoppers but not sure if this is a good idea or not.
