I have a valid h-1b visa with a stamp that will expire in 2021, is there any immigration issues I should be aware of if go home for a week as I have an emergency? I read carefully the EO and I don’t see any issues as my docs are valid. My boss notified HR that I’m leaving the country and they were asking me to avoid traveling but I have a valid visa so I don’t see the issue beside being very precious?
I’m looking to transition from the hospital setting (I’m a project manager) to consulting. I have a referral at Booz. Can someone shed some light on their PTO benefits- I’m hearing varying things.
Does anyone else have intense imposter syndrome and believe they’ll never move on from entry level positions? I’m trying to apply for new jobs and I have enough years of experience to qualify for a senior position but I’m scared to make that jump.
Applied for a position that I know I'm qualified for at A&M a couple of weeks ago. App is stuck in 'submitted', can any AM fish help me move this along? Thanks!
Losing someone at my team cuz other company is willing to pay him even more money. At his position he is already making pretty well for the market rate.
I moved from consulting to industry - and 2 months in, I hate it. I have severe paralyzing anxiety, am in a stretch role but have limited access to my manager (executive level) and little direction...
My h1b visa with current employer is valid till 2021 June after which I have a 3 year extension till 2024. My new employer has just transfered my h1b, but the approval is only until June 2023. Why am I losing a year now ? And do I still have to apply for an extension next year?
To all the veteran H1B holders: my friends OPT expires in February. She would be a first time H1B applicant so I’m guessing her H1b won’t go into effect until October (if she gets picked through the lottery). While she is waiting for the lottery / adjudication to take place, can she be in the United States or does she have to return to her home country?
Any tips for keeping direct reports motivated? They’re working so hard, doing incredible work but I’m not in a position to reward them for this work now that our org has cut promotions, raises & OT.
Any good articles or advice about imposter syndrome? I keep getting positive reinforcement but I can’t help feel like I don’t belong in my role.
Learnt in one of the info session with attorney/ Immigration team that the maximum duration an employee can work away from home office is 4 months in a given year
For those on consular processing for H1B while still in the US. Can you go abroad (Canada) and come back on your valid status without activating your H1B? Assuming you still have a valid EAD/AP?
Got a new offer - current gig countered by offering bigger role / title. Neither is a clear winner in the “chase the work” category. What to do? New brand? Or stay and help build where I am?
Any Stanford management science and engineering MS or PhD alums on here? Does an amazon pm role look better than a mck analytics expert role for admissions? Just got the pm role, should I tell Them??
Can any internal strategy role match or better MBB, ATK, LEK, S& manager Pay? Feel like everything is at least a 20% drop....
Hi all! I am hoping to exit consulting after 7 years so I am currently updating my cv. Some recruiters recommend to build a skill based CV (with 2-3 bullets for each skill) for consultants rather than listing individual projects. Any thoughts?
Current or former AlixPartners folks, just got an offer at the Director level, 63% base, 37% bonus. Is that distribution reasonable? Also, how likely are you to get quoted bonuses come year end?
Tips for a PM transitioning to client side? What roles to look out for, how to position experience and resume? Was it a difficult transition?
Anyone else get extremely frustrated when new flight attendants follow rules you haven’t even heard of? Ex: I had to return my empty airplane bottles to prove I wasn’t taking full ones off the plane.
Best areas in London to stay? Doing several day trips so a better bang for buck since not there much is ideal. Prefer Marriott or Hilton
Going to Japan/Hong Kong in the fall for ~2 weeks. Thinking I would stay in Tokyo then Kyoto, go back to Tokyo to fly to HK. For those who have been, any travel advice, recommendations?
Should I shoot my MBB shot now & apply to MBB or wait until I hit SC? Context: Just under 2 YOE at D, total 4 YOE. Was promoted from BA to C in 1 year and have an MPA so came in as an experienced BA.
Thoughts on exiting to a strategy role in a bank vs. staying on consulting? If it matters, I’ve had generally positive reviews over several years now. Not been enjoying the past 6 months but that’s possibly unrelated to consulting and just working from home.
For those in relationships, if a SO comes to your location because you’re based there for a project. Would you split all expenses equally or would you account for you not paying for your flight?
Is it better to negotiate over the phone or email? Also, should I negotiate both PTO and Salary at the same time? Any good templates?
I accepted a job at a big agency as a Sr. CW and signed my contract. The next day someone from that same office reached out about an ACD position (obviously didn’t know I was already joining)...
