lol McK 2 you’re in for a rude awakening if you thought PE would have a better lifestyle than Consulting

Also depends on the PE firm. At MMs you usually do have better hours than doing CDDs in consulting. At MFs though, the wlb is worse.
1. Shouldn't the path of least resistance for both an offer and a post-MBA role be at Bain, as a former top performer there?
2. Curious why you think lifestyle will be meaningfully better in consulting vs in PE (?) I was planning on signing a PE offer with the opposite hypothesis!
Very surprised that they offered you SAC. DM me — would like to understand what office/geo you’re in cause if you were a top performer and have PE experience, I’d love to have you on my team
For additional context, I was top-rated at Bain and in PE with the reviews to prove it. I love the diligence part of PE, so want to go back to consulting with better hours and focus just on that. Ideally would join PEPI or PIPE
I think experienced BA unless if you have a master’s degree then it would be AC. Do you want to focus on PEPI or something different if switching back to consulting?
I had 2 YOE at a T2 and currently work as a PE Associate (2.5 YOE total across both jobs), and got a Senior Business Analyst offer from McK last week.
I think they might interview you for an SBA role but you could push for Associate given your experience.
This is a very helpful datapoint. Congratulations! And thank you
The good thing is that if you’re in the US, career-wise it doesn’t change much at what level you enter since there is the BA to EM path. Comp changes though entering as an ASC or as a BA.
And yes, because you have 2+ yrs of experiences post undergrad you can push for an ASC experienced hire role.

DM me if you’d like a BCG referral. From what I’ve seen, your floor is Senior Associate but if you talk to the right people in the PIPE group then it’s possible you could swing Consultant. FWIW though, I’ve never seen this with 3 YOE and no grad degree. But if there’s ever a time we’d do it, it’s now.
NY PIPE or bustttttt 🚀

A friend of mine recently joined BCG after 2 years in IB and 10 months in PE. He pushed hard, but could only manage a SA.
I would assume you’d be in a similar situation - SA with a 1 year path to Consultant

Maybe but also 2 years of IB experience vs 2 years of Bain experience is pretty drastically different in terms of how successful someone could be as a consultant here
