No sure what role you are at D but I wouldn’t take either of those
+2 to P1. Platinion are treated really poorly. The work is pretty garbage, much lower quality thank Big4/ Accenture. They blatantly lie during recruitment to get you through the door. We do work that I would have my analysts and consultants do at other companies. We don’t get covered by team event expenses etc. They never let you forget that you are Platinion, not BCG. Most of the cohort are fine, some arent. I’ve found the juniors particularly snarky
BCG Platinion is a firm of IT architects (they literally call themselves IT architects). I liken them to IBM, Accenture, etc. not stategy consultancies. My guess is their exits aren't similar to traditional BCG consultant exits, but more in line with where ex-Accenture and ex-Deloitte guys go.
If prestige is a factor in your decision making, I don't think Platinion is a better brand than Deloitte.

Both Accenture and Deloitte have strategy consulting practices
Quick question: why don’t you say “the same” and “30% lower”, or if you wanna be number-driven, “100% (weird phrasing) vs 70% of”?
Apologies for the weird wording. Tried to fix it but can't edit the post now. Thoughts?

Sounds like Platinion is like USDC at our firm, so you may feel the difference in treatment but if you’re happy with the pay and don’t let people impact your confidence, take it. I’m sure listing BCG Platinion on your resume will help, it won’t decrease your value. I’d use an offer to bounce back at D higher level and pay, then become Partner
I’ll tell you that’s wrong. D just gave an offer for manager at 200. And managers at pla do not make that. At most <180. Maybe.
Just looking at the post I think you should join DoorDash, you will be happier.
Go to Door Dash - exciting business with far more opportunities. Don’t become a second class citizen at a company where you are nothing more than a margin opportunity.
To clarify OP: BCG offer 2X current Salary, Door Dash offering 30% less than BCG salary
Correct. Sorry about thr confusion. Can't fix ot for some reason
I would focus more on where you want to be in 2-5 years and other things you care about (WLB, where your natural skillset is a better fit, upward mobility, quality of your direct manager, etc.).
Unless a 30% delta is a material lifestyle difference, I would not fixate on short-term metrics. $250k vs $175k will impact your lifestyle a little bit while $120k vs $85k is going to be the difference between living in the city with roommates or living at home with your parents. Also, keep in mind that 30% less for a job in San Francisco will feel like 50%+ less than a job somewhere else.
I see your point. Both are in same location though.
I’m assuming your salary jump is something like 60k -> 120k vs. something like 150k -> 300k based on how vaguely (and in all honesty, poorly) this is worded. If so, you might as well take DD if you’re not in the consulting practice at Deloitte. The BCG Platinion name on your resume probably isn’t going to mean much to other exit options in the future as it’s not the “real” BCG
It’s more like 80-100K -> 160-200K in terms of the Plantinion Salary - consultants paid usually 80-100K
Take Platinon for one year and come back if you don’t have any immigration issues
Is DoorDash offering good stock options? And is that part of the comp you mentioned above?
If money is all you care about and you really believe in their growth (which I do not), take the entire 30% difference and put it all in DD stock. I’m assuming you factored in the face values of the RSUs in your total comp calculation already to arrive at 30% less than other offer.
This should be an easy non money decision. One is consulting life and one isn’t. Since you are at D you know the churn and question will be if you want that still in your life or not.
What have you heard of work life balance?
Coach
30% lower than your current comp? Or 30% lower than BCG?
30/200 = 3/20. 1/20 = .05. .05 * 3 = .15
Can you give us more context to what the roles are and what you are interested in and also where they are located
Both are for a niche software. I am looking gor long term career and pay growth. But the pay gap between BCG and DD is just huge
Can you share how you got a opportunity from bcg ? Referral ?

You're going to trigger Principal 1 by calling it BCG lol
Congrats!!! I am not sure which is the better offer, but Doordash frequently makes candidates do assessments and ghosts them. Hopefully that speaks to the company.
