BCG Platinion software engineer folks: I just received an offer for a software engineer role in BCG Platinion Chicago with TC 145k-155k (details finalizing) with 2.5 YoE in a fintech company. My main concern is, the base is 120-130k and the expected bonus seems to be ~17% (25k bonus /145k TC), which seems a bit higher than usual. Is this normal or is it a red flag?

I work at a large, global software company, and am looking to make a move to a more collaborative environment with better culture. I’ve been offered a more senior position at a smaller North American company in the crypto space where I know I will learn a lot, but I’m worried it might hurt my overall career trajectory. Eventually I plan on moving internationally. When it comes to searching for a new position, does company size/reputation matter more than the experience you have at the company?

This is a genuine question for people in Texas: what do you view as the role of state government? I ask because it seems like Texas can’t manage it’s own electrical grid system, yet, I would think this is one of the most fundamental and basic aspects of state government.
