OFFER HELP: Currently an L5 PM at Amazon making $80k (I came in as L4 hourly and we all know how tiny the bumps are). Just got an offer from Facebook (Meta) for a program manager role, base is 125k. Can someone help me negotiate when I’m already so blown away by and grateful for this offer? I know I’m supposed to, but given everything that’s going on in the world right now, I know I am IMMENSELY privileged already and it feels so greedy to ask for anything else.

Hello, I am having my first connect with recruiter at Amazon for modernisation Architect role next week. It is scheduled for 30 min. Could anyone throw some lights on how the first connect looks like. Do I need to prepare in terms of behavioral questions(which I seen quite a lot in everyone's post) . Thank in advance you for your support.

Do not pick Deloitte over BCG lmao

You’ll be at 175 base at bcg with 12-25% bonus within 12-18 months. You’ll be making more than at Deloitte pretty quickly
What was you level and OP when you left Deloitte for BCG?

By FAR pick bcg. Also consider maybe staying 3 years so you can exit with PL title.
Honestly take the money

Definitely BCG
Always consider the value of the brand name. BCG will open more doors for you going forward. People see MBB and automatically assume positive things, etc. Deloitte is a fine name but no where near MBB. It doesn't matter the practice Deloitte may be stronger in the tech but most people don't know that. And at your level the difference in expertise is negligble. The brand name is in a way an intrinsic value that isn't quantified for you on your immediate comp but it is way more than the 30k extra Deloitte is paying
I think people overrate how much value MBB has for tech, it’s definitely more skilled based recruiting. I beat out multiple MBB people for my job. That being said in this case take BCG, cuz 30k isn’t huge, if the delta was like 70-80k I’d say go with D
Super role/function dependent. MBB has zero value-add in SWE/data roles and the like. But in other areas has significant value - evident from friends/colleagues who have exited to more business/strat related roles
BCG, ex Deloitter here.
Pick BCG, dont look back; ex-Deloitte now at McK.
Definitely like the culture and intellectual challenge more. Travel for what I do hasn't been every week.
Unfortunately you will probably not get a nuanced answer to "MBB vs non-MBB" questions on this app. We lean pretty heavily into old-world prestige here, as you can see from the replies.
I'd say if you're going for a S&O role in tech, BCG will probably be better. If that's not your plan, you should probably provide more information to get a better answer
How do you even ask this lmao
