I see a lot of people making more money when they exit. In my experience, I have yet to find a role that pays more for a similar level of responsibility in a similar location. Current M in T&O at $153k in the Midwest (not Chicago). Offers I’ve seen at the manager level in industry in similar midwestern cities at the manager level are typically between $110-130k with a 15-30% bonus. Any advice on finding an opportunity that will lead to a salary increase, even if it’s only a modest one?
Has anyone used an outside position to get a salary increase (20-25%) with current firm? If so, did it work out? How did you approach your boss? Did you jump ship for the new role? Thanks!!

Considering switching as a 5th year from a small litigation practice to transactional role at a different firm. The new firm has stated there will be no litigation. 90% of my current work is cases which a partner is the primary attorney so they will have to figure it out if I leave (I’ll give proper notice). However, I have a small number (10-15) of active cases which are my own. What is the protocol for telling my clients I’m leaving and can’t take them with me?

I'm happy in my role/salary, find it rewarding and the right work-life balance. My friends however, are talented and awesome so they've been rising up in their jobs and so, have a higher disposable income. When we go out especially on special occasions like trips/getaways, I'm starting to feel the pinch. They've been understanding and even give notice when it's a special occasion coming up where they want to splurge. If I don't go, it's fine but how do I spend time with them if everything is $$?
Are there any certs that would help to transition to a product management or program management Big Tech Role? Have 5+ years in program management + nonMBA masters but wondering if a cert of any kind (AWS, etc) would help too.

Walmart or Amazon? I have 2 offers - one for a Senior Recruiter role at Walmart, one for a Sourcing Recruiter role at Amazon. Walmart offer has a higher salary + bonus by about $30,000 but only offers $8,000 in RSU ($135/share), whereas Amazon offer is lower salary/sign-on bonus but 24 RSU shares @ $3,400/each (both companies fully vest over 4 years). Which would you take? Any insight to either company? Walmart is higher title/more $$/what I want to be doing, but Amazon is big name & more RSUs
Husband works at nonprofit. Started in August, fully remote. We are on vacation in the Caribbean this week, and I want to stay another week or two. Are the optics of my husband working from the Caribbean problematic?
After a really difficult thanksgiving, my mom just gave me permission, essentially, to cut off my sister. It has been a long time coming and it’s for the best for my mental health right now, but it still makes me sad.

Hi, can anyone tell me what they know about the bonus structure at EY. Any information on the different levels and associated seniority/roles would be helpful. Thanks in advance!
Seeing news about Will Lawes joining Lazard makes me wonder, do lawyers really make good/successful senior bankers?
As I get into my 30s, I’ve noticed recruiters focusing more on maternity leave than anything else when I ask about benefits. I know that benefit is important to a lot of women, but as a child free person it kind of makes me uncomfortable that they are just almost assuming I want a baby because of my gender. Maybe just mention it instead of emphasizing it? It also makes me assume that companies might discriminate against me in the job process (which isn’t cool for anyone) over a man.
So my wife basically said she doesn’t want to have sex anymore. Don’t want to do anything about it. After couple kids, doesn’t feel it anymore. Also said it wasn’t anything I did and there’s no one else. I understand women’s body changes after child birth but can’t help thinking it’s gonna suck being in a sexless marriage. We’re still attractive and haven’t turned into couch potatoes…yet Happy Thanksgiving!
Has anyone ever joined a zoom meeting from an airplane? I won’t need to speak but need to listen and I cannot change my flight. Thanks!
I am extra sad and lonely today. I wish I can just be treated to a nice date by a nice man. Is that too much to ask for. My life is just work and home I’m sick of it...
Has anyone switched from Big 4 to product companies ? Any advice ? How long does it take? I am looking for data engineer or data analyst track. Does big 4 experience matter?
Is it rude to ask for someone’s salary? I’m trying to do market research but I’m not sure how to go about it
