I’ve been thinking of making a switch from audit to TAS. I’m currently a S1 (2 busy seasons experience), and rated as a top performer at my firm. I’m contacted by Kroll, but recruiters there told me that since I haven’t got any TAS experience, I should be applying for their Analyst role instead of Senior Associate. Honestly, I want to switch to TAS but not that desperate to leave my firm. Anyway, I just wonder if you guys have the same situation and usually how long it takes to get promoted?
Internally developed software
Yes
some are listed above, but EY: Canvas, PwC: Aura, KPMG: Clara, Deloittte: Omnia. all have nuances to them, but all are far superior than APT/Caseware products. The issues for some of them is how they talk to other systems within the firms’ IT structure and whether other audit tools are embedded vs connect vs standalone.
EY uses Canvas, PwC uses Aura.
Aura is top tier, esp since it went online. Having to sync the database every few hours was something else, and it was only 3 years ago.
BDO uses Caseware as well, and likely will until APT Next Gen can support the same functionality (getting there with APT Linx). Also — APT is a BDO/Microsoft collaboration.
