You guys should be making a set salary, not an hourly wage.
Many tech companies still pay hourly because of difference between exempt and non-exempt employee based on if they're office based.
For example, you can be at Salesforce and have a 130/130 role for 260k comp and it's still hourly for the base.
I was a BDR for 4 years at various companies until eventually landing a manager spot. $21 an hour was my pay too, think it came out to about $46,500 a year plus commission so I made 55-60k. Are you hourly or salary? BDR is the entry sales level position, especially at a company like Zoom, the sales development program should be pretty developed. But a key you absolutely need to check is making sure they have a clear path OUT of the BDR position. No one should have to do it more that 18 months - 2 years. If you have a clear path up to AE or something similar and they can show you the clear path in negotiations, the money will come

That’s a low offer btw - can get higher.
It’s newer!
I just transitioned from the education world with no experience in sales. My base is 22.88/hr and 32k+ uncapped commission. If your goal is to get a foot in the door and there aren't other opportunities I'd say take it. You have a product that is well known so it would likely be easy to meet your quota.
Zoom is a great company! Take it. BDR roles are more enjoyable at larger successful companies.
What is the commission like? Are you allowed overtime?
Recruiter said 30k min (7.5k a quarter) if quotas are met. And yes to OT!
I’m not sure what exactly you do in the sports industry and every situation is different, but I left the team side about a year ago to become a BDR in tech sales. Best decision I’ve ever made. My work life balance is by far better than it’s ever been and have over 2x’d my income since then also.
