Be careful what you share and whom you ask for advice. I think most people don’t really want what’s best for you unless they are happy with themselves, and most aren’t.

This is why I only ask online strangers who have no connection to me for advice 😂

Currently in a long distance relationship, and this year me and my future fiancé are looking for a place to settle down. I’m in the west coast and she’s in the east coast. The most logical option is to move back to NYC but I’m not too excited about the work culture, weather, and work opportunity in tech. CA also has terrible housing options for my price range and ranks low in education. Is it worth it to sacrifice education and housing for better career prospects and better weather?

Op-Ed: As a black man with parents from Africa, I feel like Black people have been receiving reparations for decades now. Any further reparations are most likely going to be a waste of resources and regressive—especially if their fiscal.

Take someone like me:

A. Grew up in a single parent home with six brothers.

B. Had to move eight times in eight years because we were always renting a house.

C. I have three brothers who are either in jail or is a recovering addict.

But me (cont’d)...

It’s my gf’s bday next week. She is starting grad school soon and needs a new laptop (she has an old PC). I wanted to give her ~$300 towards a new MacBook, but felt that was a bit impersonal. So, I went to a nearby stationary store to get a card and maybe a few other small things. Picked up a card, gift bag, tissue paper, moleskin planner and leather document holder…next thing you know I’m checking out and it’s like $115!! Now I’m thinking I’ll just give her $200 towards a laptop 😅 😅

I have been dating my gf for 6 months now. She’s a nice enough girl to hang out with but recently I’ve been feeling as though the effort in the relationship is really imbalanced. For example, she never offers to pay for dinner, never offers to cook for us (I do it), never buys gifts and doesn’t want to have sex (she she’s a virgin and wants to be sure I’m committed before she’s ready but she is happy receiving oral though).

Am I a sucker here? I’m 27, she’s 25.
