don't listen to the consultant above (no shade), behance is a red flag and will get you passed over immediately. It doesn't have to look "conventional" but you need to build a stand alone website for yourself.
I think you’re waaaaaaay overthinking this. You’ve got your portfolio and it’s housed on Behance. So? I’d like to think people are looking at your work. Not the url.
I’ve thought about this. I feel like it makes it seem like you don’t know how or are too lazy to build your own website.
Tbh, not a red flag, but kinda makes you feel like they are in a different league? I feel like every creative who is really serious and passionate and outstanding has their own website.
Not to judge their qualities, but the way you present whatever amazing work you have is of equal importance to how great your work is.
It probably depends on who is looking at your portfolio. So if you want to be captured by more people, the best route is to make your own website rather than risking being rejected. I definitely would be lowkey judging you why you can't put up your own website. I still do think no matter where it lives, if you've got the skills, it really wouldn't be a hindrance. But let's say if I face two of you of equal calibre, if I have to nitpick, you would lose 1 pt for not having your own website, therefore I'd pick the other person lol
Eh, I’d judge. Not going to lie.
I don’t like Behance, it would definitely be a factor
Seriously? Who cares where it’s hosted?
I'm not familiar with the inner workings of Behance. But I use Squarespace with my own personal URL. Is that a no no as well? I've used it for the last 10+ years and have hired creatives who use it. Have I been doing this wrong all along?
