Digital is like teenage sex: everyone talks about it, everyone thinks everyone else is doing it, nobody really knows how to do it
Digital, think mobile apps, marketing analytics, user design and experience, designing apps, developing web apps that look good and are easy to use.
It's essentially technology, but less enterprise-based technology like a giant SAP implementation but smaller agency type of work and more tailored to the client. Tends to use more modern technology.
For example Ticketmaster and StubHub have a online marketplace to buy tickets. Digital is building an app or designing an app that allows that online marketplace to be used on mobile phones. There's a lot of thought into building apps beyond just making it work.
"Pertaining to digits". Could be anything from fingers and toes, significance of digits, or electronic plumbing. :)
It's a legit question. I've heard of deloitte digital but don't know how it's different from consulting. SA2, what was your answer? Did you have it right?
Have to agree with OP digital transformation is one of those buzz phrases I don't get.
For marketing analytics, that means optimizing social media ads, tracking your own performance of ads, using Facebook or Google ads, testing performance of ads/layouts on your own pages/apps.
Digital is a deficiently descriptive term for an actual set of business activities described well by the Deloitte posters in this thread. Just like cyber really is information security but seems to be taking over as a term despite being less meaningful.
