The feels when you roll off that one engagement that was a little more meaningful than the rest
I may have a week of bench time. Any favorite spots to go while on the bench for the week? Florida? Hawaii? Recommendations for accommodations and activities?
Are jobs in Accenture less secure than the big4? I am hearing a lot of chatter around bench and how people are concerned about getting fired. Curious to hear real stories from Accenture employees.
Explaining the beach to ppl and them being like "Wait so you still get paid during this so called beach time?" Yes.....Yes I do!😎
On the bench and using my time to watch all the star wars movies, shows etc with my little sister. Just finished episode 3 and she is devastated about the fate of the jedi. I'm so proud of her!
What fun things you would do if you are on bench and know that you're starting engagement next week?
Just rolled off an engagement where I worked 3 weeks of 80s, with a month of 60s before that. Now this new job I’m on is looking like it’ll be 60-80 for the next month too and I’m having a hard time focusing. Anyone else deal with this? What’s your strategy for staying productive. Feel like I’m dragging the new team down.
Has anyone here kept their old job when starting a new one? On the bench now and kind of will be for the foreseeable future. Starting a new job next month. Kinda just wanna see how long I can stay on the bench lol
The BEACH or the BENCH? 🤔
On bench. How long do I wait before I quit? Working on personal projects. I don’t want to quit as soon as they try to staff me so I have a better chance at rehire in a few years...
Any tips on sending those "I'm on the bench, got anything?" Emails to your network? Always feels awkward to me but I wonder if it's just my phrasing that's awkward lol
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Client site girlfriend wants to continue after I roll off the project and start traveling elsewhere. I like her but worried about the new distance. Any of y'all been through this?
I feel like the Senior manager has to redo all (or a lot) of my work. I’ll suggest something, they’ll modify or reject it and then make a decision. Then I’ll execute on that decision and I didn’t have the best idea and it’ll be tweaked again or something comes up and the approach didn’t actually work based on th support. I’m an A2 up for promotion so I should be performing like a new senior, but I feel like it’s clear that I’m not close. For more context, it’s a first year audit so maybe that...
COVID WFH has put me several time zones away from my client (I’m further west and their culture is to start the day early anyway). It’s a new project so I don’t have relationships built up. How much pushback on morning meetings is reasonable? I know the project can’t operate totally around me but these start times aren’t sustainable...
Debating round 1 vs 2 . Heard for over represented applicants like consultants they should always apply to round 1, but I’m at the window of promotion and will get better recs if I apply to round 2. Any thoughts on how much more competitive round 2 is for us? Any people got in over round 2 to H/S/CBS?
How can I set the stage this year to negotiate a lower billable hours expectation instead of a raise? As a woman I'm hesitant to be open about my reason: I want more time at home with my kids. I lateraled to this firm a year ago for WLB and they are indeed flexible on WFH which helps. Salary is a bit below average for mid-size firms like mine in my area, and I didn't get a raise or bonus this year because I didn't hit the billable target (1900). Ideally I'd keep my salary but go to 1600 hours.
Can someone from ACN tell me how the new maternity leave policy works? Contacted HR, read the policy but an confused if you get the 16 weeks plus FMLA, then your PTO if you want to take that.
Accenture 🐠: how long did it take you to get an interview after submitting application? I did it through a referral, submitted app 10 days ago.
Im currently a senior associate at RSM getting promoted to supervisor (role between senior and manager). I have offers with big 4 to be in accounting advisory, but it would be as a senior with no pay bump. Would it be worth it for the exit opps? I eventually want to leave public as a manager
Does Deloitte usi renegotiate after the offer has been accepted? I've a counter offer from another company. Will Deloitte match up and revise my salary. DOI - 6th dec,21
What do you wear to a creative interview?
What is the difference between getting life sciences consulting expertise at a life sciences boutique firm vs at bigger generalist firms (MBB/big 4)? How are the projects different and what type of experience do u gain?
I’m fully remote for 2 years now. More productive than ever. Present for my family like never before. Have met more people from my company than I would’ve if I’d rely only on bumping into them. Have a much more focused, open and dynamic creative process with my teams. My company doubled size. Why would anyone consider going to a physical place to do work that’s delivered digitally ever again, even if for a day per year?
Interviewing for a big tech marketing position. Any recommendations on books to read/ resources to prepare?
Hi Fishes, Posting on behalf of my friend who is having offers from SLK : 25 ,DXC : 21 ,Cognizant: 19 YOE: 5 Tech: Salesforce Developer Please suggest if SLK is worth joining? How is the work culture and pressure? Is the quality of work good?
Has anyone experienced or negotiated with a shop buying out their bonus as a condition of employment?
Need advice on hating your sibling’s significant other. My sister is polyamorous and bisexual (not judging- just giving perspective) and I’ve never liked the people she dates- they’ve all cheated on her or been otherwise disrespectful and treated her poorly. She is 21, and is now dating a 39 year old man who lives in an off grid cabin. From what I’ve seen he is basically a 39 year child. No responsibilities, does whatever he wants. No future plans. I’m concerned but don’t want to push her away.
Any considerations when disclosing to the firm that your wife is pregnant? Debating when to share the news...
