Watching the Boris Johnson covid update and all I can think about is how unfair it is that men can be extremely unattractive and still be leaders while women are expected to be beautiful in addition to effective 😪
Anyone here work for Carbon Black that can help me understand how things be going since acquisition and Covid? Been reading good bit of mix reviews.
Really low (day 1 of my periods) andI’ve been stressing today on things that are outside my control. Have my birthday coming up, and i’ll be 35 soon. No bf, no man, no marriage in sight. The clock is ticking, more so as i have large uterine fibroids, so not just my parents, even my gynec wants me to hurry up. Have been alone cooped up at home for more than a year now with no end in sight thanks to COVID. Dating is bust too. So all in all really lonely. Any words of encouragement?
Anyone with India employment knowledge/experience? Looking for insight into the following: - How common is life insurance as an employer provided benefit and has anyone tried to get quotes on this recently? I’m being told by our broker it’s impossible to get anyone to quote on this now because of COVID but I don’t have a very high opinion of the broker… -contract recruiters in India. I’m looking for multiple contract recruiters (English speaking). Any leads??
Does anybody here feels that this never ending calls and over zealous over productive folks are a byproduct of COVID. I mean I feel like I am working more because of WFH
Reminds me of my train ride commute before Covid.
More than anything this is why young, healthy people need to get vaccinated https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/08/health/long-covid-kids.html
So unmotivated by partners complete lack of communication and transparency during COVID... Radio silence re: firm health, bonus prospects, unresponsive to emails, team zoom mtgs scarce + a joke, etc.
I feel like anytime I hang out with friends now all they want to do is ask be about covid...

Have any of you taken FMLA leave due to a positive COVID case for a member of your household? My husband just tested positive for COVID and I am not sure yet if my 2 toddlers have it. In any event, even if they are healthy, they can’t go back to daycare for awhile so childcare is all on me. I’m wondering if I should apply for FMLA leave so I don’t completely crash my hours, but I am also not sure whether this situation qualifies for FMLA.
A sleepy summer Sunday watching the end of a great test cricket match, grabbing a beer with friends and glorious weather. Honestly it is the first day since covid that life feels normal for me
Have an offer for a VP level role in treasury they initially told me 135-145. I said minimum i would take is 150,000, they came back with 150,000. I had an offer a few months ago for vp 160k. Suprised such a diff. Covid adjusted salaries?
Are folks facing rental rate increases in COVID? My apartment folks sent me a rate increase of 1% in Atlanta. With no increases in salary, I think I should negotiate. Thoughts?
As the post-COVID workplace is transforming the core essence of what’s most important to recruiting, retaining and developing talent (employees, consultants, hybrid type work), what are the core one or two “MVPs”- - (Most Valuable Professional-Personal) ‘essentials’ you require for your ideal career-life design blueprint?
Hello - is anyone that is selling consumer goods dealing with high shipping costs? I mean it’s ridiculous! I understand rates are up due to Q4 and COVID, but are there any tips out there..? I’m Currently using Shipstation with a fair mix of USPS and UPS. Thanks
Here’s an animated chart that shows how COVID-19 cases and deaths have grown globally compared to their causes of death like fire, influenza, and malaria over the same time frame. The timeline begins on January 1, 2020, and COVID-19 starts at the very bottom of the chart with zero deaths. https://public.flourish.studio/visualisation/2634167/?fbclid=IwAR3SfwQFl7UkyJ-DIYp1D_Y1idQM-tHdpuqVdK7SpMxqNI2sA-dO7-5qFS8
Third year in Technology Strategy with primary experience in project management and process improvement. Looking for opportunities in Operations Strategy or project management in Chicago
Thinking of taking a SM role in consulting. Role is in the NY area for big 4. What is the base salary and bonus range I should be looking for?
Who did the amex spots with the violinist and the people all shot from behind? That's not Ogilvy, is it?
Any staff attorneys/hourly attorneys willing to share their experiences? I’m partnership track in BigLaw but am so interviewing for a staff/hourly position at a different BigLaw firm for the work/life balance. I just am hoping I’m not trading one hell for another!
Had a final round of interviews for a lateral position last Friday. Unprompted, the senior recruiter let me know yesterday that she is reviewing feedback and will let me know about next steps soon. Should I have an answer by the end of the week? The whole process has been quick up until this point.
Looking for help related to maternity policy which states we’re eligible for 16 weeks postpartum and it should be taken within first 6 months from delivery. Does it have to be consecutive 16 weeks?
LGA American 6am flight tomorrow, is an hour enough to get thru security and to gate on time?
How long would you say a new job takes before you’re fully competent? My brother started a data scientist position 2 months ago and his manager said in a meeting last week that his “brand” is that he slow to respond to data requests compared to the previous person, and that there’s usually something wrong with the data he sends. I feel like 2 months is way too soon to expect someone to perform at the same level as someone who was there for over 2 years, what does everyone else think?
When did you feel like you were successful? People around me think it’s impressive that I work at Deloitte; however, I’m miserable and hate the work I’m doing. Just accepted another job that others would deem a dream company and salary but I’m just afraid of being miserable there too. I just don’t feel like I’m good enough, will be happy, or be in a position where I feel like I’m successful as others.
Current TC is $110k. Been offered a role by an acquaintance in industry for $120k. Doesn’t make sense for me to jump given this minor increase in comp + lack of interest in new line of work. How do I let the recruiter know i’m not interested while still remaining amicable with the acquaintance who referred me?
Do I need to stay with a big bank (Chase, BofA, Wellsfargo) or do you think it’s suitable to switch to an online bank? (SoFi, etc)
Rejected for a role at a dream startup. Told to keep in touch for new roles - been 6 months and reached out to recruiter, but no response. Follow up or accept defeat? Reallly wanna work there... :/
we just had a day full of workshops about inclusion, so maybe my job is safe for a few months.
Just found a position at NASA that sounds promising, but now playing the imposter syndrome game 🙄
Interested in applying for an MBA program, and have seen the class profiles, but I’m still unsure. Started off as an engineer and left for consulting before moving to product at AWS. Is this kind of combination the norm for applicants these days?
We have a hollywood glam themed holiday party but it’s outside so I want to wear my long sleeve dress, but it’s yellow. Is that too spring-y? The style fits the glam vibe but not the holiday vibe. I know most of my team is not dressing to theme but I know yellow may be jarring at this time of year…thoughts? I just don’t wanna be cold 😩
Does anyone know how much roughly the PTO pay out would be if I quit and didn’t use all my vacation days? I live in California.
