Been a RN for almost 10 yrs. I have a MHA with a specialization in Nursing Informatics but the program was online so I wasn’t able to get hands on experience in the informatics skill. I’ve been in Quality Management/Performance Improvement but I’m really for a way to break into informatics. Any ideas/roles/opportunities?

Looking for a great non-fiction, relating to travel or world history (not just one moment in time). Could also be about the marketing world or memoirs of a business leader kinda thing.

I just had my annual review with the company I’ve been working at for a year. During the review, I made my requests- one of which is to be promoted to Director of Marketing. (Which is what I’m doing already without the title) Now they are circling back and saying they want another year before promotion. And they want me to sign a non compete. Dual role position for a sub-specialist. It’s a very busy role that includes surgery scheduling , prior auths for surgeries and tests, referrals, returning patient calls regarding their surgeries, and to add to it, reviewing the schedules for out 2 Mds, 2 PA’s, & NP. They want everything done quickly but with also close attention to details but with absolutely no overtime. Right now I make less than I feel appropriate but it’s also more than the other clerical jobs in our corporation.

Curious to hear from people with med school debt: what is the best way to finance med school? Is taking on student debt a big deal if you get a high-paying job after school? The reason I ask: I paid for my son's BS degree (including housing and meal plans), and he's entering med school soon. He has asked if I will pay anything towards his support in med school.
