Been doing the M-Th grind for a few months now. No sleep, I’m getting depressed, and miss my SO terribly. SM and Manager don’t care since I’m pretty vital to the project. How to make it more bearable?

Facetiming helps during the weeks. Try to check out a little early on Friday and don't check email at all over the weekend. Spend 100% of the weekend focused on you, the people you love, and the activities which help energize your spirit. Worst comes to worst, ask for a week working from home! Work it out with the M & SM that it's on a week where your physical presence isn't needed at a client or you need some heads down time to work on key deliverables

Also, everyone is replaceable... don't over exert yourself for a company who would fill your seat by Friday if something happened to you

Alt travel with your SO; I make the most out of this. Free vacations are the best

This is a great idea! I did this a lot with my wife in the beginning of our marriage and we still look back at that time fondly

1. Are you spending 30 mins FaceTiming your SO each night, this helps 2. You need to work on getting good sleep, that’s a separate issue 3. Recommend cutting back or eliminating on alcohol that should help with your temprorary depression 4. Make sure you’re outdoors and getting as much sunlight as possible on weekends 5. Work from home with SO fridays, or have them come in to meet you for lunch

Just quit (handed in my letter as well). This is not how life should be imo.

I feel completely lost at work. I started at a new company 1 month ago and got put on a client that’s just as confused as I am. I’m only associate level (with a little experience from my last firm) but I feel like I’m “in charge” of this audit. I feel like nothing on the audit has been done and I’m soooo nervous for manager review. Wtf do I do?! I’m so overwhelmed.

Does it look bad if I have a man bun? I’ve worked with some - but not all - of these clients in the past and don’t think the ones I know would care, but fear judgment from the partners. My client hasn’t paid their invoices since the project started 8 weeks ago and now my boss is really concerned. What am I missing? What’s the big issue? Is it not just a standard legal process to remedy payment by now? Is he more concerned with the extra work? Reputation issues? “Free work” financials? I’m fairly new to the industry and haven’t been exposed to that side of the business yet

Hot take: $1M net worth is very attainable by all the consultants on this app. Consulting is in the top 5-10% (or better) paying jobs in the US. $1M net worth would put you in the top 6-8% as a 35-45 year old in the US. While everyone starts at different points (i.e student debt) and has different life circumstances resulting in different timelines, consulting provides solid income to allow you to save, invest and build wealth, if you choose.
