Been in consulting for almost 4 years now, mainly technology implementation and digital transformations. Came to the US via an internal transfer 6 months ago and plan to head back in a years time. I came to the US because I wanted to get exposed to new markets, new ideas, etc. I did learn a lot. Now I am trying to create a consulting service around data analytics to bring it back to Europe. About a year ago, I found inappropriate TikTok’s of a close friend’s kid and told my friend as soon as I found out. She sounded appreciative that I let her know but TBH, our relationship hasn’t been the same and we rarely talk anymore.

Feeling a little bit low-balled by a Bay Area public company offering me a role at 145K w/ 9years of experience. Will it sound ridiculous if I counter with $175K? It will still be a COL adjustment down, but more acceptable, especially with my partner relocating with me and him working remotely.

Just did an interview with a startup. Interviewers seem inexperienced and equally clueless about the industry as I do. I don't think there will be much to learn from them in terms of knowledge, but the role does offer the platform to strategise, experiment, see impact (all of which are missing from strat consulting). Is this worth a switch?

Would any of you choose Amazon over other FAANG or even tier 2 tech? all my friends working there hate it and seems like comp lags behind other FAANG unless you account for stock appreciation.
