Jump firms
I went from $85k to $106k in two years at Accenture. Jumped ship at the end of year three for $138k.
70k to 105k in 3 years in acn strategy canada here. We dont do midyear promos or anything so this is quite standardized. I understand other groups (eg digital) have more variability and opps to accelerate level, but have lower bands.
Nah, they aren’t going to put you on a pedestal when they don’t have to.
You need to jump to another firm for a promotion and a raise.
You’ve been there long enough and they will under-reward you because they can.
Bounce!
In my first 4 years in ACN Consulting I went from $72 to $92, so I’m guessing your situation is normal.
The key here is you stayed at one firm. Note how everyone who mentioned a big salary bump got that AFTER jumping ship. My career counselor told me this years ago, and it has turned out to be true: if your goal is to maximize your pay potential, you must occasionally jump firms. Staying at one firm forever will likely result in you being paid less than what your skills would command in the market.
Have you been with Accenture all 4 years?
Golden days of consulting are over, unless you are in a very specialized area, having commensurate skillset.
How old are you? Did you start right out of college and got into consulting or had any prior industry experience?
Went from $90k to about $180k in 4 years, out of college
Nope, didn’t start in banking - been at OW since starting. They paid something like $80K base and $10K signing bonus, with another few thousand prorated year end bonus even though I started in September.
3rd year out of UG and just jumped to another firm for 135K total comp
Are you federal or operations?
That’s 28% hike in 4 years = 6.75% CAGR. That’s a bit low. Does this include any promotion(s) in these two years?
Fwiw I went from $55k to $115k in 4 years. Jumped from Big 4 to Accenture in year 4
CDO or CM?
Not sure if those questions are directed at me or OP, but CDO and I’m 27. Started right out of college with no prior exp.
@Slalom1 did you start $85k right out of UG or experienced hire?
Right out of UG. First promo put me to 91k or so, second to 106k, then the switch to slalom got me to 138k a month ago
