It exists, but it’s rare - like a unicorn 🦄or Oprah Winfrey. So, you have to find passion/purpose outside of work. In fact, that’s the only way to survive these soul-sucking jobs for which many of “us” are overqualified.
The only people I know who have a real passion for work are in the arts. Most of us who last long in the professions are just good at what we do and appreciate the money and stability. If I hit the lottery tomorrow, I wouldn’t be doing what I do. With that said, I’m finally somewhere where I feel fulfilled with doing what I do and that’s about as good as it gets!
lol girl when you find it, lmk 😂
When I graduated school I had “work passion” being first gen and all I drank the corporate kool-aid lol but then I saw how good loyal ppl where done wrong and I also burned out after 5 years so now I’m just taking it day by day and on the FIRE journey to be work optional by 40 because this corporate ain’t for me
Same I think about it everyday in the AM lol
Same boat here 😔😁
Warren Buffet says “working a job that you hate every day is like saving sex for old age”
I think it’s more about finding aspects of your job that you enjoy and reminding yourself of your end goal. Our job funds our dreams and if it’s not, we’re in the wrong job. Maybe your passion is helping people with their finances or getting out of debt etc. figure out what you’re passionate about, your “why” and that should help you spark your passion.
I work in healthcare but I help people on the side to learn about financial literacy and managing their finances because I help corporate America meet financial goals but I really enjoy applying those methods and helping people like me who didn’t come from great backgrounds thrive financially and lead a better quality of life.
Make it a must to find something you enjoy doing outside of work. It’s flat out hard to do on the side — but have you considered doing what you do as a side hustle? Being able to educate and empower people you actually want to work with can provide a whole new level of fulfillment and purpose. Or, try a bunch of new hobbies just for fun and see what sticks!
