Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a switch in data science and data analysis.
I have 7+ months of experience in a startup.
Designed and deployed, Planogram for one of the clients by creating an end-to-end pipeline for data loading, feature engineering, and automation through Jenkins
Successfully managed to release the "Sales forecast" project to two clients.
I'm looking for a change. Any help would be appreciated.

I was laid off during Deloitte‘s mass layoff in July of last year. I have worked as an independent contractor since and projects haven’t been consistent at the client I’m working for. I’m looking to get back into a big firm and was seeing if anyone would be able to refer me or help get my foot in the door. I was a business analyst for 1.5 years at Deloitte and have several years of additional experience which I’d be more than happy to share.

My first project I did absolutely nothing for 3 months.... just sat there....
Me right now. 😭
I don’t really get any works, not enough training (bc they are so busy), no feedbacks or check in meetings, etc. I’ve tried to reach out to them multiple times and idk if they just don’t understand how frustrated I am or what. I had a check in meeting with a soon to be SM of the project bc he can obviously see me that I’m disengaged and not happy right now. I cried during the meeting (still mortified) and he suggested what if I help more project wide work for him rather than a specific team. I appreciate the idea but I’m also conflicted bc I was seriously starting to look for new projects to switch and have interviews lined up
I’d say stick it out. jumping ship too soon may look bad. If a Sr mgr is going to give you more work, do it do it well, and it will only look good for you. Who’s to say you won’t come across the same thing later on. (a bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush. )
Are you charging hours?
Yea if I absolutely have no work and my team doesn’t have anything for me, I would ask around for work from other people but I feel like I shouldn’t really be doing that so much
1. Take up SM’s offer while on the case. Latch on to it!
2. Don’t ask around for work if it hasn’t been forthcoming, but try to look busy (I know this is frustrating)
3. Keep pursuing other projects and roll off when something better works out (SM will 100% understand if you frame it as it’s best for your dev and the team)
