Feeling bummed out natural, we talk so much of our identity to our jobs. I know reading this probably won’t help but it’s true. Layoffs are part of the working life. I have a buddy who was a SFA got laid off for six months. Next job finance manager with a pay bump, got laid off for a year next job was corporate controller for a smaller company with a pay bump left that to be corporate controller for another company and got laid off 6 months with a pay bump became a Director. Laid off for a year due to pandemic and now he got another pay bump to be VP of finance somewhere. Not saying this is normal but sometimes career paths that look easy are actually quite arduous
I think you may have to broaden what industries you would want to work in, tech and startups are getting clobbered right now.
Where are you located also. Location plays a big role as well. As others noted, are you open to other industries?
Look up Ottobock…tons of jobs in US, Canada, Germany, etc… not a tech startup but maybe a good place to springboard.
If you can't find a referral here, I would try over on Linked in. I usually have good luck over there! Best of luck to you.
