Wondering the speculation on travel for consulting given the pandemic/WFH normalizing/etc? Is the assumption it will return to like before (3/4/5 weekly etc) or do you all anticipate more work from home and distance work?

Companies like google and amazon said they will institute a 3-day in person work starting mid-2021 for the foreseeable future (may have changed since it was last communicated).

But consulting companies have not taken any stance, so it’s just a guess. I think it may still be lot of travel but only for selected engagement types. For example if 80% of engagements required a 4-day/wk travel, it will likely go down to say 50% in steady state.

Again, your guess is as good as mine.

I think it will be a mix of 4 days a week and no travel projects. For those that go back to normal there is no point of 3 day trips for a team. When the company you work with is in the office, you will join. For many others that stay remote, the team may travel to an office (we have done this pre-pandemic for things like diligences). I am guessing 50/50 split in 22. Though Labor Day 90% remote only.

Scenario: A person with 13 YOE had 40 lpa fixed + 10 % bonus total 44 lpa ctc salary in her company. She switches to Infosys at a salary cut due to location constraints and was paid 40 Lpa ctc (only 32 fixed and 8 lpa variable out of which only 50-60% is paid). While in probation period in Infosys, she receives a permanent wfh opportunity from a small but fast growing company at 45 lpa fixed. So overall benefit she has is 45-36=9 lacs. Should she leave Infosys and join the new smaller company?

Hey FishBowl Friends, so I’m currently trying to break into tech sales/FinTech and I feel that due to my previous work history, I might not look like the ideal candidate on paper but I’m an extremely fast learner and very coachable. I’ve been a manger at a gym, got my degree in finance, worked as a client advisor at a top 3 auto dealer in the nation and now I’m a project manager at a solar company. I really want something that’s remote and steady, any recommendations on how to spruce myself up?

I need serious advice about my new job. My thoughts might not be as structured as it should be, so please bear with me. I'll try my best.

My job title is Help Desk Specialist. I've been working in this tech company for a month now. I was interviewed and offered the job by the CEO himself. 90% of the employees are WFH, there's only 6 of us in the office. 8 if you include the CEO, and his wife. There's no HR- **continued in comments

I received a job offer for a PM position with a base of $125K and a 10% bonus, fully remote and ok benefits. The parental leave is pretty bad, just FMLA and STD/LTD so the most I’d get is 60% of my salary for 12 weeks. I’ve cancelled most of my interviews except for one where the pay is $135K, 20% bonus, hybrid schedule, good benefits and 16 weeks fully paid parental leave. I’d like to start my family in a year or two - is it better to take the remote gig or the hybrid role with full paid leave?

Hi! I'm a seasoned benefits nerd 🤓 with a little bit of compensation experience (less than a year, my current role has thrown me into the thick of it and I'm doing my best lol).

I also enjoy working on cross-functional projects, but I don't care for Employee Relations.

I'm open to remote, or Hybrid roles (Florida). I took a slight pay cut when I moved to this job and that is not something I wish to do again at this time. (Looking for a base of at least 95k)
