Tata Consultancy Hi fishies, I recently interviewed for a Big data dev role for Autodesk but it's via a third party called Applicantz. Initially the contract is for 1 year, which can be extended. There is also scope of Autodesk hiring permanently after 6 months or 1 year. Can anyone provide some reviews about Autodesk and third party Applicantz. Usually I would not have considered anything via a third party, but the company(Autodesk) seems great and work discussed seems good as well.

70k in a HYSA? What're you getting ~2%?
I would put some into a trading account, even if you just throw everything into a index fund, you'll get about 7-10% returns. Especially if you're investing for the LONG run (20+ years), index funds are the way to go
Yeah I have 50k in VOO and ~10k in other individual stocks

Given that HYSA are no longer "HY", a lot of people are moving money to better yield assets. What is your time horizon for when you need this money? If you don't need it for a 5+ years, then the stock market is fine. You can diversify in the stock market - index funds, gold/precious metals, dividend income funds, real estate as you mentioned. I would start with 20-30% of your savings and then add more funds over time. There is some good value in the market, its just been overshadowed by the tech & semiconductor rally.
20-30% sounds like a number I am comfortable with. Thank you!
Put in your money in weekly or bi weekly amounts for now and if you see the market go down more than 5-10% add in 5x your weekly amount. This dollar cost averaging will pay off in 20 years. Make sure to invest in diversified ETFs. If you like certain companies and are willing to bet they’ll go up long term then buy their stock in monthly or quarterly amounts. The market is already pretty high right now so would start small
