Been since May 23rd that I’ve completed my background check. Called the 3rd party company and they said the background check has been sent to the hiring company for review as of last Friday. Should I wait another day before following up with my recruiter about the status of the background check? I don’t suspect there to be any crazy thing, but I’m just anxious. I’ve just never had a background check take at or over a week. Advice?

I honestly thought my anxiety would decrease after leaving consulting. But a month into my industry role, I’m feeling worse than before. I like helping clients with data based solutions and simplifying difficult algorithms for them, hence doing a bit of both.

In my little experience, I have seen consulting people not very well equipped with data science solutions and data science people focusing on creating solutions but working at the backend of a problem only.

I’m in the middle of an interview process for a senior consultant position at a top 10 consulting firm. I just got offered a promotion to engagement lead at my current consulting firm and a significant comp raise. I’m still interested in continuing the interview process, but the original salary range I gave to the recruiter is now lower than my new salary post-promotion, and I’m now in a higher position than im interviewing for. Advice on how to handle the situation?

Have an interview with a company I really want to work for tomorrow. My last job I was laid off b/c of an acquisition&recently accepted a job at a diff company b/c I couldnt afford not to. I got this invite shortly after. The place I’m interviewing at the job wouldn’t start til next year. I dont want to seem like a job hopper. Do i tell them I’m at a new role or just not bring it up? The acquisition was public so they can see Im no longer employed with the most recent work history on my resume

So I applied for a position & received feedback from the hiring manager stating that the position that I applied for was filled internally but they would like consider me for another position. So I interviewed and two days later, I was offered the position. Went through a background check & negotiated salary. It’s been almost 2 months and they stated that the delay is due to internal HR issues since the dept director did not create a new job requisition for the job they offered me. Thoughts?

So I'm interviewing, have had loose salary conversation (talked about band but not specifics), and approaching the official offer stage. It's become clear the role is something I'm very well qualified for, but their pay expectations for the role are much lower than mine.
