Been WFH for a year and was recently told I'm rolling off soon. Fuck me if I have to go back on the road. 😕

Just made that transition after 18 months WFH. I can tell you two things: 1) it fucking sucks exactly as much as you think it will. 2) you get used to your shitty old travel life pretty quickly.

Think of the points though

Shit I think it's legit time to dust the resume and look locally.

Time to leave consulting

It's a better setup and no cabin fever because it's the same work just no pressure or a SM breathing down your throat all day. You can take breaks and do what you want as you please. I'm in love with my WFH situation. It's 9a and I'm in bed chillin on FB lol. I dread the day I have to go back on the road. 😖

A1 Exactly! Literally just woke up 😂. WFH provides amazing work-life balance also as I get to see my little one during downtime throughout the day. I don't think I could transition to another project on the road after a year of this.

My sympathies. I'm in the same boat. Fuck.

How do you create impact from your house? No need for any in-person interaction ever? Neither with client nor your own team?

I would love to have a WFH project. Have two little ones at home.

What kind of projects have you working from home over a year??

D1 IT Operations project in Federal

I don't understand WFH projects. Like literally from home or just local office?

@BCG Literally work from home.

OP, what level are you?

I didnt mean leave consulting in a bad way but i was in your shoes twice....and both times going back in the road was worse than a kick in the junk

Don't you get cabin fever? I was on the beach for a month and stayed home so much I thought I was gonna go insane.

D1 Im a manager in tech

@BCG We have a lot of tech projects where there is a team onsite bi-monthly but the rest of the team is developers from our India practice. I would imagine he probably oversees the development and manages the India team and there's a separate team managing client relations onsite.

@BCG We keep in constant communication using email, skype meetings, pings etc. there's really no difference For us communicating as a team or with the client.

@BCG This is an infrastructure outsourcing project. Basically running the IT system we built for them. Client interactions via skype and email is sufficient.

When you spend more time getting dressed for your first client face to face than you do for a first date.

What's fun in Greensboro, NC?

Just booked a nice hotel (with points) for my mom on her birthday in the city she's lived close to for 25ish years and never stayed overnight in. Almost makes these nights away from home worth it 🤗

Anyone willing to chat with a strategist fresh out of Miami Ad School or know of any potential opportunities/someone I should connect with? Happy to!

Please help: I’m a senior staff who is very close to becoming a manager. Over the past year I’ve questioned if I want to stay in PA, and I’ve now decided I do not. I’ve already expressed (contd...)

Anyone got a Schengen visa for visiting parents from USA? I’m planning a fam trip to Europe but they didn’t get their visas done from India.

What long-term effects do you think this experience will have on the administration of education?

Congratulations to Elon Musk and SpaceX. That was incredible to watch. 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

Anyone with coding experience down to work on a small project?

Does anyone know if a foreign attorney can be certified as a paralegal? I’m trying to get my diploma validated so I can sit for the Bar, but that would take around 6-12 months. So I would like to do something related to the law area in the meantime, but getting a job without a bar or diploma from US is nearly impossible.

What’s the best way to structure your resume if the only experience you had was at one firm (joined straight from college)? Do you list the same company for each time you get promoted? Provide “select project” highlights?

Should I leave now or wait till my senior promotion in the summer? Finishing up my second busy season and have absolutely no intention of sticking around for another after the stress this one has caused. I know the rule of thumb is to wait till senior promotion which I would get in August but I feel everyone will be job hopping this summer and it’s better to search now while less people are applying

Is it just a coincidence or was Trump actually effective in keeping the peace in the Middle East? There were ongoing incidents, but no such major flare-ups in the last four years. I wonder if Biden really has no influence over MBS, Netanyahu and other key players to de-escalate.

Send help. Client status meeting was a struggle.
