Thoughts on getting CFP when done with CPA (1 test left) and pivoting from audit to personal financial planning? Estates, taxes, savings, etc. Or should I just stick the OG plan and go into industry FP&A when I make senior/CPA?
Seeking advice: Looking at long term Career salary trajectory between the big 4 vs big tech. Currently a director /sr manager at a big 4 and have an offer from a big tech firm paying 30% more. Long term, i can make partner at my firm in a few years if I stay, which has its benefits. When a job posting says 3-5 years of experience, does that mean a 3rd-5th year associate? Asking because there’s a bit of a discrepancy between the two, since if I graduated in May 2017, I’d be a third year associate this October, but only have two full years’ experience.
Do you have guidelines of what you expect a transactional associate to know at X years into their license?
Currently @ a good firm but have an interview next week @ a top firm - same practice group and type of work and size. What do I say my reason for wanting to leave is w/o coming off as a social climber

Is this two low an offer or am I being silly? Offered £50k for a Legal Ops role by streaming company but from research same role at company in US pay is 130USD. YOE5 across Big Four and IP with some Tech SaaS work.
What’s the best way to figure out if I’m getting paid market rate as corporate counsel for a large tech company? I’m at $150k, 7th year, handle any and all legal matters that arise in our company (a subsidiary of a global telecom company w $11 billion annual revenue) along with three other attorneys including the GC. We all work our butts off and I just don’t know how to figure out if I’m getting paid fairly for it.
Any tips on updating my resume and LI? I want to start looking for a lateral move after the holidays and am prepping now. What details on case work can I include?
I’m a 2019 grad, am I wasting time applying to jobs looking for someone with 3-5 years experience?
Question for the legal recruiters out there- is a signing bonus a reasonable request for a lateral move? HCOL but not major (i.e. not NYC). I would appreciate insight into how this request may be received.
I received a message on LinkedIn from an internal recruiter at a company that sounded intriguing. Would it be bad form to ask for more information about the role and about comp up front? I wasn’t looking to leave my firm until later next year at the earliest, but the company sounds really interesting. Don’t want to waste a lot of time if the comp isn’t right, though.
How hard would it be to get a job if I quit mine? I’m feeling really burnt out and unhappy with my current environment. I’ve been applying for positions since February and not getting much traction. I’ve expanded my search to NC, DC, TX, and CA, or fully remote. I wonder if maybe I’m just not dedicating the time needed to conduct a good search/get enough applications out there. My current position is at a firm and I don’t have time to apply to more than 1-2 jobs per week. Finance/corporate law.
I’m interested in speaking with a legal recruiter. It appears there are a lot of opportunities out there right now. My resume is robust, but not traditional, as I left a law firm 14 years ago (on good terms) to run a small business. It has been successful, but times (and labor markets) are changing and it is time to consider a pivot in my career path. I am licensed and in good standing in two jurisdictions. Any of you interested in speaking with me?
In discussions to make a lateral move. Is there any way I can negotiate higher pay outside the fixed bands? Higher annual bonus, signing bonus? I assume chances are low but worth trying.
