You could just say for a meeting to be valuable, the value must outweigh the opportunity costs of the attendees. No need to Rube Goldberg it.
Love it. And your right.. I specifically wanted to draw attention to a common intuition fallacy trap… not to mention have some fun pithy dialogue with my fellow fishes :)
Too much math. Pls fix.
Haha no faster way to be condemned to oblivion than to include a sigma in a social media post :). Post idea inspired by libertys highlights# 276

Valuable Progress= valuable meeting
Feel good about the progess you made via that last discussion? This alone isn't sufficient to know a valueable meeting took place!
this misses #opportunitycost!
Only if,
Valuable progress > than all the other possible activities participants forgo in order to attend your meeting
do you have a net value additive activity planned.
Don’t forget opportunity cost!

I hadnt seen that but that is good … although In some cases meetings can be an effective way to include bring some new people up to speed
