Austin! It’s getting expensive but nothing compared to Chicago/Seattle/DC/Cali. There are TONS of companies moving there and lots of opportunities for growth.

You could always relocate again, so Nashville isn’t typically where folks go and seems would be good . Logically Austin.

Struggle is real! I love all these cities!!! What do you personally like to live in? Weather wise? Culture? People?

Personally Seattle! Nashville 2nd. But it depends on your vibe, what would you do with a suddenly free weekend? Also remember, it's not a final decision for the rest of your life. I've moved 3 states and 1 country for my career and only in my early 30's. Good luck!

Nashville 🎸

I’m curious where you live now? Arlington/DC gives you a very diverse group of people to meet. Nashville and Austin are the cities to live in right now but Nashville will be more affordable. Seattle? If you like rain, hills and expensive housing it’s at least a great place to be but it’s a little dreary. I can’t speak to Santa Monica but… I would choose somewhere affordable because you can afford to travel! You can live somewhere and get the benefit of cheap weekend trips and don’t have to feel as locked in to where you choose. I would say Nashville Austin or DC all the way.

Austin probably offers the best combination of career growth + financial savings (reasonable cost of living, no state income tax). Also a personal preference which city you like better, but I think Austin is fun for someone in their 20s. And it’s a growing tech city with Amazon, Apple, Google, FB, etc. all having huge campuses/offices there should you want to hop companies. If not Austin, then Seattle. Bigger tech city than Austin but also more expensive.

I'd go with Nashville. Austin could be a backup. Maybe Santa Monica but you won't be able to save any money there.

Santa Monica for the thrill 🌊 then transfer to Austin to make up the lack of savings

I accepted a job from a place my friend works. She got me in and I'd be dropping a title level but making the same $ as my previous role. I accept and 1 day later my #1 on the list came through. better title, pay and benefits. The first company is stoked to have me and everyone is nice. I'm sure on the culture. I reached out to company 2 the week before I accepted this offer and they weren't ready, but now they are. They seem great, but so does everyone when you meet them. What do I do?

Would you apply through a diversity recruiting link or an MD referral link assuming you have referrals from both paths?

Interviewed for a senior technical position at a startup (about 50 employees). During the interview the CEO spent about 20 minutes answering my questions. There was no discussion about my technical skills or experience. They emailed that they are working on an offer. Is the interview process a redflag? The only technical screening that happened was the HR lead's 10 minute phone call.

TikTok or Cepheid Biotech Hey guys, I need to make a decision today on whether I want to start a career as a Talent Sourcer at TikTok or as a Onboarding Specialist at Cepheid, a Biotechnology company. Both in the Bay Area at $35 per hour and both are currently WFH. The TikTok position is less stable and very numbers driven, while the Onboarding position is more “secure” but less exciting. I am overthinking the fact that I would need to be presenting orientations for hours a day, and maybe scared

eBook or Online course? Hi all - curious as to what you’re preferred medium for learning and prepping about case interviewing. I’m a former EM at MBB and had coached and interviewed hundreds of folks (still do today). I know there’s a lot of material out there already but let’s assume I can add value and have a solid approach/methodology - would you prefer an an ebook or online course? Case interviews scare me. I know I’m in consulting but before the interview for my current role I had never done a practice case. When I was prepping I barely ate for 2 weeks because I was so stressed and nervous. I have case interviews coming up for positions I really want and I’m freaking out again. I like consulting but don’t know if I can do that all over again just to *maybe* get the job. Any words of encouragement or tips to get me through this and prepare thoroughly? Anything helps
