Had couple of interviews with a Faang company but literally have been told that the hiring manager is out on business travel, pto, etc literally 4 times and now 1.5 months has passed since my last
SPG Platinum people: have you stayed at a Starwood on your birthday? Did they do anything for you? I thought they'd leave a note at the very least. 😥 #LonelyBirthday

60k Bonvoy points for 30k AA miles - yay or nay? Have 500k bonvoy points, and 140k AA miles. Plan to redeem AA miles for round trip to HKG.
Let's say I'm looking at an industry or otherwise non-traveling role. Is it fair to consider travel benefits (meals/per diem, miles, alt travel) as part of total compensation?
When I used to travel for business, my local cab driver would pick me up for airport trips. One of the drivers was from Lebanon. He would ask me jokingly how he could contact Modi to find out why India doesn't compete in world cup soccer or win golds in Olympics. I would answer him all of my cousins are either doctors or engineers. This NYT article reminded me of the good old days www.nytimes.com/2021/08/04/world/asia/olympics-india.html?action=click&module=Top%20Stories&pgtype=Homepage
Traveling to DFW for a wedding and my friend at Goldman gave me his Corp code for the Ritz. Has anyone done this and do they actually check if you have a Goldman email address etc?
Does anyone have experience with travelling to Bangalore via Dubai on Emirates? I got a cheap ticket but wanted to find out if there are any flight cancellations. Best part is Emirates is offering free cancellation and changes. TIA!
Business traveler here. I stay at Marriott/SPG hotels. I can’t bill flights so I charge hotels, taxis and food each week. Which is better Amex SPG or Chase Sapphire Preferred for building points?
Working remote, house was was too noisy, office too far. Went to hotel lobby half a mile away instead and it felt normal again...
Question: first time flying American Airlines...is carry on the same size as Delta flights and a book bag a personal item?
Looking for internal consulting roles within the industry - anyone care to provide a referral? PhD with >5 EOY in consulting.
All my MBB 🐠, is there anyone who would be willing to chat with me about your role and experience, the company culture and work and potentially work with me to see if I am a good fit and also if you would be willing to refer me? I am currently a Senior Consultant at EY.
Had a low GPA in undergrad due to health issues. Also had to withdraw a class and retake it bc I was busy consulting surgeons to see if I needed surgery at the time. To what extent is it recommended to write about health issues in app additional info section to mitigate low GPA? What type of health issues should be specified vs. what types are seen as excuses? What amount of detail should one provide? Do schools ask for proof?
Planning to spend 5 nights at Bali. Is St Regis or W or Ritz better? Please share your experience and which hotel would have a better experience and more activities to do. Thanks!
Has anyone enrolled/completed MicroMasters Program in Business Management from IIM B in Edx? Can someone give insight into BCG Platinion? Salary band for SC’s? Is it worth switching from Deloitte to BCG-P?
If you were fired / terminated by a prior employer, when searching for a new job, what would you say if the application / recruiter asks if you got fired or why you left the prior job? Will the reason pop up during background check? Would companies really give you a 2nd chance if you are being honest about the fact that you got fired? (Note: assuming pre-COVID)
In addition to self-reporting scores on the application, do I need to send my official scores to all the schools I’m applying to?
25 yo female (single if that matters). After social situations (e.g, family friends) my dad is always like “you should be more like this” or “it was kind of weird that you did this” or “your outfit was this” and I’m soooo sick of it. Have been hearing it my whole life and I am who I am!! I feel like I have only 25ish years left with my parents and I want us to all be at peace instead of fighting him when he says stuff like this. Is this normal/am I overreacting, or is this toxic? Advise please!
Hi, all! I am currently in the process of switching firms. I’m at another big 4 in financial services. My new role has sent out a survey for market team preference between Financial Services and Products & Services (tech, media, telecommunications, consumer markets, etc). In terms of work and exit ops, which would you choose and why? Thank you!
Hotel recommendations in LA where a young, active Aussie consultant can stop for a weekend of pampering and pretending she's not a peasant? I have a ton of Marriott points but fine to spend $ too.
I heard a commercial on the radio for Verizon that said something to the effect that parents are now learning how to lesson plan. Are any of you off the hook for lesson planning? Just wondering because I’m over here busting my butt!
Deloitte got pulled into a project with a manager I’ve gotten to know recently but I really am not interested in the project and it’s very different from my past project experiences. I think they picked me because they know me and the timing works out well. I don’t want to burn bridges by saying no to the project esp when they really need someone right now but I also have no desire to work on this for the next couple of weeks. Should I just suck it up or how do I go about this?
Has a recruiter ever reached out to schedule a call after your final interview? What does this mean?
Being a foreign worker on H1b who recently rolled off from the project and currently on beach, what are my options in these times of impending slowdown?
Is it stupid of me to apply to LS consulting firms with little experience in business? My only intern experience has been at a local pharma business. Other than that, most of my experiences are in a clinical setting.
